The International Leadership Charter High School is a high performing College Preparatory high school dedicated to providing an exceptional secondary school education to first and second-generation students to graduate college ready. The International Leadership Charter High School implements an academically rigorous Regents and college-preparatory curriculum that elevates students’ intellectual capacity, and provides a superior high school education.
Our Charter High school is in the Top 1% High School out of 500 NYC Public High Schools and Recipient of Bronze Award from U.S. News & World Report for Best High Schools nationally 2013 through 2022.
Requirements
The Living Environment science teacher will be responsible for the instructional delivery of an academically rigorous course of study and aligned to the NYSED and Charter School performance goals to assure high levels of student achievement.
Position Duties and Expectations: Prepare and deliver an academically rigorous course of study and aligned to our charter goals and the New York State Common Core Standards.
Assure high levels of student engagement and achievement in accordance with our charter school's performance benchmarks.
Communicate high academic and behavioral expectations to our scholars
Create a classroom environment conducive to optimizing teaching and learning
Manage classrooms, collect and analyze student performance data
Maintain constructive relationships with administration, peers, staff, parents and students Actively participate in professional development activities and participate in reflective practice and implement strategies to improve teaching and learning
Maintain a professional appearance and deportment.
Complete all classroom and school assignments and responsibilities in a timely and effective manner.
Work autonomously within school established guidelines and policies.
Respond appropriately to evaluative feedback and changes in the work setting.
Build collaborative relationships with colleagues, share teaching insights, and coordinate student learning.
Knowledge of office and productivity software sufficient to function smoothly in a highly technology-based environment (including but not limited to Zoom, word processing, spreadsheet, database, email)
Adhere to the highest ethical standards, demonstrate empathetic disposition and good judgment Dependability, integrity, and a strong commitment to our charter school’s vision.
Qualifications: Master’s Degree or currently in a Master’s program with certification pending Minimum requirement - Internship Certification 2 years of teaching experience preferred Ability to work in a high paced charter school that requires high degree of accountability, personal initiative and social and emotional intelligence. Compensation and Benefits: The compensation will be commensurate with level of experience and a record of demonstrated success. We are seeking an individual of outstanding quality with a track record of positive outcomes.
Benefits
Compensation is commensurate with the level of experience and pending certification. It includes a competitive base salary as well as health, dental, vision and 401(k). Six weeks paid vacation is offered to teaching faculty with 10 school holidays during the winter break. Salary range: $75,000 - $85,000.
