Role Description
As a Senior Travel Advisor, you will lead a team of Travel Advisors and must be exceptional in client relations and execution of various high-end travel arrangements, from building custom and highly-detailed itineraries to handling all systems and bookings. The ideal candidate is someone who has extensive industry experience – preferably in the luxury sector – can excel as the leader of a team, and is simultaneously a meticulous and fast-paced worker. Please note that this is not an entry-level role and significant previous travel advisor experience is required.
Requirements
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead a team of talented, passionate luxury travel advisors with an exceptional group of high-end travelers as your clients
- Maintain strong and highly personalized relationships with all of your members, in order to best plan their travels based on their tastes and preferences
- Spearhead your team’s research on destinations, activities, dining experiences, etc.
- Handle execution of all trip booking details from hotels to transfers to reservations and more
- Work directly with hotels, villa suppliers, DMCs and local fixers globally
- Build detailed and comprehensive travel itineraries
- Tap your love for travel; provide targeted travel intelligence and advice tailored to each specific member's needs
- Be proactive and creative; seek out solutions off the books when needed
- Be an added voice in the conversation and accompanied projects surrounding Marchay’s growth and development as a company
REQUIREMENTS:
- You are based in North America and are willing to work Eastern Time Zone hours
- You have 5+ years of experience planning luxury travel either as an independent contractor or company employee
- You are comfortable working on 50-60 trips at once
- You have experience working with large amounts of data and staying organized using a CRM (e.g., itineraries, trip feedback, client information, etc.)
- You have excellent taste and product knowledge. You understand the nuances (e.g., the difference between the Connaught and the Berkeley in London)
- You are well-versed in working with luxury hotels, first and business class air, DMCs, villa suppliers, guides, etc
- You have a sophisticated understanding of a high-end consumer’s lifestyle and travel trends
- You have a demonstrated ability to deliver a great client experience with ease and grace
- You have excellent verbal and written communications
- You can multitask easily and have outstanding time management skills
- Bonus points for Sabre GDS knowledge, Salesforce CRM expertise, and experience leading a team
