Full Job Description
Bodily is seeking a Senior Product Merchandising Analyst that is an analytical and detail-oriented individual to join our team. This a contract role (part time), reporting to the VP of Product Strategy and Lifecycle, offers the chance to use both analytical and creative skills to manage a strategic product assortment and aid in product lifecycle management and purchasing analysis. This position is perfect for a driven self-starter eager to contribute to a mission-driven, high-growth direct-to-consumer company.
Responsibilities:
Reporting:
- Analyze weekly and monthly sales, update the dashboard, and create reports outlining key observations with actionable insights (e.g., assortment changes, site adjustments, marketing needs, photography updates)
- Report weekly and monthly on SKU and category productivity at a color and style level for all channels (DTC and Amazon)
- Analyze bundle performance on the site and suggest updates based on customer purchasing behaviors.
- Identify potential inventory opportunities or liabilities and inform the VP of needed adjustments.
- Perform ad hoc and periodic analysis to provide actionable insights for the Product team.
Collection Assortment Management:
- Handle SKU item requests, setup, and communication to cross-functional teams.
- Maintain and update the SKU Master monthly or as needed ahead of forecast reviews.
- Conduct monthly market research on product opportunities and competitive activity
- Maintain and update collection in-development line sheets for visibility into our quarterly product roadmaps. Track and manage status of product development in cross-functional line sheets and tools.
- Facilitate cross-functional communications on line adds/changes/drops
- Communicate discontinued colors/styles to cross-functional teams in the SKU master.
Purchasing Support and Inventory Management:
- Review reorders and purchasing decisions, making necessary color-split and size-split analysis and adjustments based on sales and forecast updates.
- Monitor stockouts and risks, and communicate findings with the VP and cross-functional teams as needed
- Assist the VP with Amazon assortment updates and their implications on inventory needs.
- Review excess retail inventory and assist with creative plans to utilize it.
GTM and Digital Assortment Management:
- Contribute to site merchandising strategy and digital execution in order to promote product visibility and cross-selling opportunities
- Communicate weekly site merchandising directives/updates to maximize revenue and improve user experience
- Support Sale Collection and promotional decision-making and margin analysis.
Requirements
- 3-5+ years of experience as a Buyer, Analytical Merchant, or Product Strategy Analyst.
- Experience in a dynamic and agile environment, such as a startup.
- Proficiency in using tools like Slack, Asana or equivalent project management systems, Google Sheets, and advanced Excel skills.
- Very detail-oriented and an exceptional project manager.
- Meticulous organizational skills. You have a knack for bringing order to chaos.
- Excellent communication skills required for effectively collaborating with international factories and internal teams.
- Located in the greater New York City area is preferred.
- This role does not currently have in-office requirements (subject to change).
