Full Job Description

As a shift leader at Happier Grocery you will be responsible for the overall supervision and operation of store during your shift. You will ensure a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members.

The ideal candidate will quickly be able to adapt to the brand, values, and culture of the company, evoking passion and excitement for the process in all involved while providing an upbeat and positive client and team experience. Because we are a small team, we all wear many hats and are happy to roll up our sleeves and lend a hand whenever needed. This role is for 365 Canal Street, New York, New York.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee entire store operations, with particular focus on cleanliness, fullness of product display, signage quality, safety, and customer service.
  • Ensure our customers are being taken care of and the store looks great at all times.
  • Keep store environment clean and neat, upholding all standards pertaining to cleanliness, food safety, and team member and customer safety.
  • Responsible for the productivity of team members and their adherence to policy.
  • Respond to all customers needs and concerns.
  • Assist team as needed.
  • Set, and achieve, the highest standards in retail execution.
  • Lead by example.
  • Respond to concerns in the absence of store leaderships.
  • Communicate regularly with store leadership regarding proper operations of the store.
  • Support corporate office vision and execute all programs.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Respond promptly to customer needs and questions and requests assistance when necessary, including answering the store phone and via text.
  • Follow and comply with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and adhere to safe work practices.
  • Operate and sanitize all equipment in a safe and proper manner.

Requirements

  • One year of experience in a leadership role or equivalent.
  • Food and /or retail experience desirable .
  • Ability to maintain professional and appropriate conducts.
  • Ability to follow instructions and established procedures.
  • Demonstrates creativity in driving sales, merchandising and/or marketing.
  • Demonstrates appropriate decision making, critical thinking, analysis.
  • Detail oriented, well organized and able to adhere to deadlines.
  • Ability to understand team members and store needs.
  • Must take a creative and analytical approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with other team members and leadership.
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of position.
  • Ability to operate all necessary equipment.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays as required.
