ROLE SUMMARY:
Under supervision of Program Director, performs responsible professional casework. Work may involve responsible and specialized social work in intake interviewing or for the finding of suitable alternate individual situations. Work differs from that found in the caseworker class in that the social worker is expected to work with a minimum of supervision, receives cases which are more difficult and demanding, and generally receives assignments requiring the use of judgment in solving work problems. Work performed is subject to the laws, rules and policies guiding all casework activities. Completed case records and recommendations are subject to review by professional superiors.
ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLES OF WORK:
- Complete exploration into, and assessment and evaluation of, all social factors, past and present, which may be useful in constructing a clear and revealing profile of the individual in relationship to his/her individual needs.
- Implementation of social treatment, consisting of therapeutic measures designed to assist the individuals in achieving established goals.
- Continual sharing of facts, opinions, and judgments leading to improved techniques providing services, greater understanding of the individuals and their problems, and sharpened acuity of inter-departmental cooperation, understanding and achievement.
- Development of program media, including discussion as well as activity, which can provide individuals with increased capacity and will to achieve desired rehabilitation goals through group experience.
- Responsible for improving and refining available techniques, as well as development of new methods of care for complex social problems affecting an individual’s placement.
- Responsible for devising, establishing and maintaining channels of follow-up contact with clients who have been placed in alternative situations, to assure maintenance and consolidation of rehabilitation achievement, and to anticipate and prevent problems arising which might not have been given adequate consideration at the time of placement.

SHIFT: Flex (40 Hours)
SALARY: $71,876-$83,377 per year
This position is benefit-eligible and has generous time off.

Requirements
REQUIREMENTS:
- Graduate from an accredited college or university with a Master’s Degree and maintain licensure as an LMSW.
- Readiness to learn and utilize relevant agency computer applications.
*All hires must possess a valid NYS Driver’s License at the time of hire.
