General Intern Duties:
Here are some general intern duties you might expect:
- Research: Assist with research on film projects, including market trends, potential funding sources, and audience demographics.
- Script Coverage: Read and summarize scripts, providing feedback on story structure, character development, and overall impact.
- Social Media Management: Contribute to the company’s online presence by creating and scheduling posts, engaging with followers, and researching industry trends.
- Administrative Tasks: Assist with day-to-day operations, such as filing, data entry, and maintaining production documents.
- Attending Meetings: Participate in team meetings, taking notes and providing input on ongoing projects.
- Networking: Help coordinate events, screenings, or festivals, and assist with outreach to industry contacts.
- General Support: Be ready to pitch in wherever needed, whether it’s running errands or helping set up for events.
Important Information Before Applying:
- Program Dates: The internship runs from January 13, 2025, to May (exact dates are flexible based on academic schedules)
- Our internships are paid, and offer a competitive hourly rate of $17.50. While school credit isn’t mandatory, we can provide documentation for it if needed. Note that relocation assistance is not available.
- We're excited about your journey of learning and growth! To make the most of your internship, we ask for a commitment of 2-3 full days a week, totaling around 16-24 hours. The best part? You get to craft your own schedule, ensuring it fits seamlessly with your school calendar.
- This internship is a team-oriented opportunity that requires you to be on-site at one of our NEON offices, located in either Los Angeles, California, or the Soho area of New York City.
- Interviews will be conducted from October to early December. If your skills and interests align with one of our available internship roles, a member of the NEON team will reach out to you. Due to the high volume of applications, we regret that we are unable to provide individual status updates.

To be eligible for this internship, you must be enrolled in an accredited college/university, taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (Spring/Fall) during your participation in the internship program.

Requirements
What we’re looking for…
- Must be an undergraduate student, rising Sophomore, Junior or Senior and enrolled on campus for the entirety of the 2024 - 2025 school year
- A passion for independent film and a proactive, positive attitude.
- Strong computer skills, especially in Google Docs and Excel.
- A collaborative spirit and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Cultural literacy and a curiosity to engage with marketing and distribution campaigns.
- Knowledge of current film trends and industry news
- Quick learner with strong problem-solving capabilities.
- High attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills
- Excellent communication and analytical writing skills are essential
