ProArch Sales and Senior staff collaborate with clients to design the best solution to fit the business need. The Engineering technical staff works to configure, install, secure and support IT/OT environments of clients of all sizes. As a member of the team, you will be expected to be able to assess, as well as implement and secure technology within guidance provided by a Senior Consultant.
This is a client-focused position with a highly technical skill set that includes Microsoft, VMware, Storage, Networking, cloud architecture, and deployment knowledge.
A Senior Systems Engineer should be able to understand client business processes and be able to align those with technological, strategic goals and objectives.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate should have expertise in various technologies, and an overall understanding of on-premises, hybrid, and cloud infrastructure components that make up customer environments.
- Implementation, and management of Windows Server environments including Active Directory, Entra ID, DNS, DHCP, File Services\DFS, IIS, and Group Policy Objects\Hardening, Intune and Autopilot
- Implementation, and management of Microsoft Hyper-V and/or VMware vSphere environments
- Implementation, and management of Microsoft Azure Infrastructure as a Services (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Virtual Networking solutions
- Implementation, management, and migration of Microsoft 365 E-mail, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Teams and security tools
- Implementation of end-user virtual solutions including Remote Desktop Services (RDS), AVD, and VMware Horizon View
- Implementation and management of backup technologies that are image and file based. Disaster Recovery and replication technologies such as Veeam Enterprise, VMware Site Recovery Manager, or Azure Site Recovery.
- Implementation and administration of Microsoft Enterprise Management Tools such as Intune
- Implementation and administration of Enterprise Storage include DELL/EMC, HP, Microsoft, and VMware Software Defined Storage
- Implementation and administration of Switch, Routing, Wireless and Firewall networking including Cisco, HP, Meraki, and Barracuda.
Requirements
- Experience 5 years+ and associate's degree or better
- Certifications: Microsoft, VMware, storage, and networking
- A verbal and written technical assessment is given to potential candidates that must be passed
- Clean valid U.S. Issued Driver’s License
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of time, coordinated with personal availability
- Divergent thinking that can provide creative and resourceful input to problems
- Takes ownership of project, tasks, and client deliverable
- Motivated, thorough, innovative, accurate, and articulate
- Ability to prioritize effectively and handle shifting priorities professionally
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Produce project and knowledgebase documentation in a concise and clear manner
- Maintain expertise in relevant solutions, products, and services
- A broad base of knowledge of the IT services industry and trends
- Analysis and identify best practice gaps
- Collaborate with Sales Management to:
- Identify sales opportunities
- Up-sell and cross-sell client
- Proposal development
- Close deals
- Collaborate with ProArch’s Security team to harden and make recommendations to customers
- Provide daily time accounting and monthly expense report submittal
- Maintaining professional certifications and obtaining new certifications
- Additional experience that would benefit the ideal candidate:
- Ability to create confidence in environments where system discovery and gap analysis is required and may not be fully understood by clients. Provide solutions to these systems utilizing staged improvements to create insights, resilient and stable Operational Technology systems.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills with first time engagements – Projects, Industrial Control Systems, or problems tend to be unique, so critical thinking skills and the ability to communicate across multiple disciplines are essential.
- Ability to communicate complex IT/OT network systems and dataflows to stakeholders and provide analysis of risks, requirements, and responsibilities for deployment of new solutions or upgrades
- In depth knowledge of OSI Model and the ability to configure production systems at one or more layers. Application, Network, Session level maintaining least privilege and limiting end-user and production impacts – this includes LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, and more.
- Understanding of unique protocols to Industrial Controls, Modbus, DNP3, others.
- Knowledge and experience providing OT (Operational Technology) security and support solutions for automation and control technologies and systems – examples include Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), SCADA systems.
