What you'll do:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Technical Account Manager to serve as a key technical sales contact within our Metro NY regional sales team. The Technical Account Manager will be responsible for assisting customers with the development and implementation of industry leading display solutions. Working alongside the Regional Account Managers you’ll will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with customers, providing technical design support, and ensuring customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, experience in the audiovisual industry, and a proven track record of customer success.
- Support the regional sales team in a technical capacity to help achieve the territory sales and growth goals
- Analyze inbound project requirements and assemble project budgets, technical requirements, infrastructure assessments, formal quotes, technical drawings and proposals
- Conduct company/product presentations and provide technical qualification of sales opportunities for the sales team
- Solicit and participate in joint sales calls, participate/conduct trainings, and product demonstrations, participate in tradeshows and model the speed, agility, aggressiveness, teamwork, and responsiveness required to win in our marketplace
- Contribute to sales growth within assigned projects, customers, and resellers
- Identify new business development opportunities
- Contribute to pricing decisions by providing market intelligence, competitive information, and other market, customer, and partner feedback
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure that customer needs are being addressed and that issues are being resolved in a timely manner.
- Assist Sales with proposal creation and technical order review
- Support trade shows and events as a technical sales resource
- Conduct regular check-ins with customers to ensure that they are satisfied with our products and services and to identify opportunities for improvement.
Requirements
What you'll bring:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field preferred
- 5+ years of audiovisual technology sales or design experience required. Prior technical sales experience with LED video walls and LCD displays strongly preferred
- Strong technical background with audiovisual hardware and software technologies.
- Experience using audiovisual & architectural system design software (including AutoCAD) preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to provide technical support and issue resolution to customers.
- Experience with Salesforce CRM (or equivalent)- for tracking business development activity and sales funnel
- Ability to work cohesively with members of Planar Inside Sales, Technical Support, Engineering and support teams as required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with tight deadlines and multiple priorities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Travel required ~50% of the time
