Full Job Description
We are seeking an accomplished and visionary leader to head our Civil Engineering division. This role will involve overseeing the growth and development of the department, combining strong technical expertise with business acumen. The right candidate will drive the success of our civil engineering services through leadership, strategic planning, and a focus on business development. The role also includes managing a talented engineering team and ensuring the highest level of service to our clients.
Division Strategy and Growth:
- Develop and implement strategic plans for expanding the civil engineering division, identifying new opportunities and expanding service offerings.
- Establish clear performance goals and drive the division’s growth in line with the company’s overall objectives.
Client Engagement and Business Development:
- Lead business development efforts, identifying potential clients, preparing proposals, and securing new contracts.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with clients to ensure repeat business and long-term partnerships.
Technical Oversight:
- Serve as a subject matter expert in civil engineering, ensuring project deliverables meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical mentorship to team members and guide complex projects from inception through completion.
Operational Leadership:
- Oversee the financial performance of the division, managing budgets, resource allocation, and operational efficiency.
- Identify areas for improvement and streamline processes to enhance productivity and profitability.
Team Building and Development:
- Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Promote a positive culture that attracts top talent and ensures team members are motivated and engaged.
Project Management:
- Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- May directly oversee high-profile, complex projects, ensuring successful outcomes for both clients and the company.
Requirements
- Licensure: Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution; a Master’s degree or MBA is a plus.
- Experience: A minimum of 10+ years in civil engineering, with expertise in areas such as site development, transportation, or water resources. Proven experience in leadership roles, project management, and business development is critical.
- Technical Expertise: Strong command of civil engineering principles, design methodologies, and applicable regulations.
- Business Savvy: Experience with financial management, strategic planning, and business development.
