Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Team Management:
- Lead and mentor the power distribution team to ensure the seamless operation of distribution systems, including transformers, substations, breakers, and protective equipment.
- Develop and implement comprehensive work programs and job plans.
- Project Planning & Execution:
- Assist in planning and executing turnarounds and major engineering projects.
- Support project leaders through all phases of major capital projects, ensuring timely and efficient completion.
- Technical Evaluation & Support:
- Assess electrical systems, products, components, and applications through research and design.
- Provide expert technical support and troubleshooting for plant instrumentation and electrical equipment.
- Budgeting & Financial Management:
- Aid in preparing maintenance and capital budgets.
- Manage capital projects, ensuring financial objectives are met.
- System Analysis & Optimization:
- Conduct power flow analysis, voltage drop modeling, fault current calculations, load balancing, and protective device assessments.
- Develop solutions to recurring maintenance issues through delay and failure analysis.
- Maintenance & Improvement:
- Design testing methods to confirm system and component capabilities.
- Lead the implementation of technical improvements and the strategic use of spare parts and materials to extend equipment life and prevent deterioration.
- Collaboration & Documentation:
- Engage with preferred equipment manufacturers, specialists, and technical support consultants.
- Maintain and update comprehensive maintenance documentation, including repair reports, bills of materials, and upgrade recommendations.
- Safety Leadership:
- Drive the adoption of safety procedures, best practices, and standard work.
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies and participate in safety audits, accident investigations, and related activities.
Requirements

Qualifications:
- Educational Background:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
- Experience:
- 5+ years in power distribution, control, and instrumentation within heavy industrial settings such as chemical plants, refineries, pulp & paper mills, or mining operations.
- Technical Expertise:
- Proficient in troubleshooting medium to high voltage power distribution systems, large rotating equipment, motor controls, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
- Regulatory Knowledge:
- Familiar with MSHA, OSHA regulations, National Electric Code (NEC), ISA Standards, and International Codes.
- Project Management:
- Skilled in budgeting, planning, scheduling, and cost control.
