Position: Purchasing Manager

Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Execute site-level category strategies and cost management plans. Keep a close eye on site budgets and track performance against targets.
- Customer Support: Collaborate with internal site teams to achieve strategic cost management and supply chain optimization goals. Guide end-users in improving supply conditions and meeting strategic objectives. Determine reorder points and quantities to maintain optimal working capital levels for Maintenance and Operations.
- Supplier Relations: Establish local supplier relationships and ensure they meet site service needs. Drive total cost of ownership (TCO) and life cycle cost reduction objectives. Lead regular performance, business, and financial reviews with local suppliers, ensuring data accuracy and timeliness.
- Team Management: Lead and nurture the site Procurement team, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and internal controls. Coach and support the development of procurement personnel, acting as a role model. Evaluate and enhance the site procurement talent profile.
- Financial Oversight: Oversee the annual site operating and capital spend, ranging in the 10's to the 100's of Millions of dollars
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Preferred MBA/Master's degree or equivalent in Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field.
- Experience: 8-10+ years of experience in the chemical process industry as a plant site procurement/supply chain manager. Experience should encompass progressive strategic sourcing, category/commodity management, supply chain management, applied engineering, and business management.
- Citizenship: Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident (green card holder).
- Certifications: Certifications in disciplines such as Procurement, Inventory Management, Lean/Six Sigma, or Operational Planning are a plus.
- Track Record: Proven track record in operations management, demand management, market analysis, strategic sourcing, category/commodity management, complex contract negotiations, and supplier relationship/performance management.
- Transformation Experience: Demonstrated experience in procurement transformation and change within an operating site setting. Proficiency in setting procurement/supply chain strategy in an operating site environment, driving performance, and consistently producing superior results in a team-based collaborative environment.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional written communication, oral presentation, and influencing skills. Ability to interact effectively with all levels of management and staff.
- Motivated and Agile: A motivated, high-energy self-starter with a proven ability to drive change and facilitate. Willingness to roll up sleeves and perform out-of-scope duties to achieve objectives.
