Job Title: Senior Safety and Security ManagerElevate Safety and Security in a Leading Food Manufacturing EnvironmentWe are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Safety and Security Manager to join our team and drive world-class safety, health, and security initiatives across our Lewiston, NC food manufacturing complex and other Eastern North Carolina facilities. Your expertise will guide us in achieving and sustaining a world-class safety environment, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, and driving continuous improvement in our processes.Key Responsibilities:Lead Safety Security Initiatives: Take charge of all safety and security efforts at the Lewiston manufacturing complex and surrounding field operations, overseeing a workforce of 1,800 employees.Oversee Multi-Site Operations: Manage safety for live production, transportation, and non-manufacturing facilities in collaboration with the regional safety director.Manage and Develop Teams: Directly lead daily activities, manage personnel matters, and oversee contract security personnel, ensuring a secure and safe working environment.Enhance Security Processes: Develop and administer site security practices and policies, track key performance indicators, and ensure timely completion of site surveys and audits.Collaborate Across Functions: Work with cross-functional teams to provide technical expertise and align safety and security objectives with broader corporate goals.Promote a Safety Culture: Engage with the hourly workforce to foster safety awareness, drive associate engagement, and maintain a world-class safety culture.Drive Safety Planning: Lead the development of the site safety business plan, track key metrics, and validate actions through internal safety and security audits.Support Training and Compliance: Ensure all required safety training is completed on time and effectively, and provide training support as needed.Lead Incident Investigations: Conduct thorough investigations on all safety and security incidents, determine root causes, and develop corrective actions.Respond to Emergencies: Act as a key member of the incident command team, leading or directing emergency response activities when necessary.Interface with External Auditors: Serve as the liaison for 3rd party assessments, audits, and inspections, including interactions with insurance carriers, fire departments, OSHA, and other entities.Foster Occupational Health: Build strong relationships with occupational health teams to enhance worker safety, wellness, and manage worker’s compensation claims effectively
Requirements
Qualifications: Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Safety Health, Industrial Health Management, Occupational Health Safety, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree is preferred. Experience: Minimum of 10 years in manufacturing safety management, with a proven track record in multi-site responsibility. Safety Program Leadership: Demonstrated success in leading a safety program with a TRIR of Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of OSHA requirements and other relevant regulations. Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and leadership skills to effectively manage teams, motivate employees, and communicate safety objectives. Technical Proficiency: Experience with SAP is a plus, and the ability to research and apply safety data and information is essential. Certifications: 40-hour HAZWOPER certification, with current 8-hour refresher, CPR/First Aid certification, and CSP or ABIH certification preferred. Language Skills: Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish and/or French are preferred.
