Permanent Hours: 5:00am - 5:00pm - Crew C
Training Hours: 5:00pm - 5:00am - Crew D
Schedule: Work 2 days, off 2 days, work 3 days - working every other weekend
Location: 120 Deeds Dr. Dover, OH 44622
Job Summary:
The Set-Up Finish Walter Grinders – Special Product will ensure high-quality production while collaborating with cross-functional teams and meeting customer demand.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate various grinding machines for special/prototype products using blueprints and existing software.
- Configure and operate additional machines such as Wendt Haas and Water jet.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address and resolve issues.
- Access and follow online work instructions.
- Maintain high-quality standards, operational efficiency, and a safe working environment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve machine and programming issues.
- Develop, test, and implement new wheel stacks and programs for production runs.
- Complete Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) for quality-related issues.
- Follow inspection plans and use precision tools for quality control.
- Interpret and understand blueprints.
- Plan and adjust production on machines to meet order quotas and customer demand.
- Manage true wheel stacks offline.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Organized with attention to detail.
- Strong time management skills.
- Ability to multitask.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Advanced ability to read and understand blueprints.
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1 year of experience with Set-Up Walter Finish Grind Standard Product.
- Enrollment in or completion of a related apprenticeship program preferred.
- Experience with measuring equipment, micrometers, calipers, contracers, comparators, and manual cameras preferred.
- Experience with offline truing preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 32 pounds unassisted.
- Ability to stand for 12-hour shifts.
