Full Job Description
1 Resource Group is currently seeking experienced Field Service Mechanics with electrical experience on Heavy Equipment to join our team. As a Field Service Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy-duty equipment for our clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hydraulics and diesel engine repair, as well as experience working in a field service role.
Responsibilities include:
- Diagnosing and repairing malfunctions in heavy-duty equipment, including engines, transmissions, drivetrains, hydraulics, electrical systems, and fuel systems.
- Performing preventive maintenance tasks to ensure minimal downtime and costly repairs.
- Interpreting blueprints, wiring and hydraulic diagrams, parts catalogs, lubrication charts, and repair manuals.
- Providing tools, parts, and arranging for facilities to perform repair work, usually on customer premises.
- Inspecting, operating, and testing equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Reporting necessary information to the Service Supervisor for proper billing and accounts management.
- Continuously enhancing technical skills through training sessions and reading technical literature.
- Promoting and maintaining the company's image by keeping a neat appearance and a clean service truck.
- Training and supervising new servicemen when required.
Qualifications:
- Vocational or formal schooling in hydraulics and diesel engine repair is preferred.
- At least 3 years of on-the-job experience in diesel mechanics and hydraulics. Schooling in these fields may be considered as a substitute for some experience.
- Basic computer skills are required.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and other technical materials.
- Passing the tacker test is required. Passing the AWSD14 Welding Test is encouraged for future promotions.
Physical Requirements:
- Stooping, bending, climbing, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds is required.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license and good driving record.
- DOT certifiable.
- Availability to stay overnight at out-of-town locations when required.
- Must be insurable to drive a company truck (MVR and background check).
