Summary


We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Lead Material Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing the flow of materials within our organization. This position has the responsibility to ensure that the right quantity of materials is available at the right time and place to meet production schedules and customer orders. The Lead Material Coordinator will work closely with various departments to ensure timely delivery of materials to support production schedules and meet customer demand.

Requirements

Role and Responsibilities

·        Analyze production schedules and forecasted demand to determine material requirements for planned production.

·        Collaborate with supply chain, production, purchasing, and the inbound/outbound logistics teams to ensure smooth, efficient, and on-time material flow.

·        Monitor inventory levels at multiple sites and replenish stock as needed to prevent shortages and excess inventory.

·        Verify all materials have been pulled prior to shipment to maintain proper stock levels and bin accuracy.

·        Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and resolve any issues related to quality, quantity, or lead times.

·        Verify received items against paperwork and purchase orders.

·        Generate Handling Unit (HU) tags, process system receipts, document exceptions, and attach paperwork within ERP system (IFS).

·        Ensure that all RAW material in received into ERP system in a timely and accurate manner (NLT 24 hours from time of arrival).

·        Utilize inventory management software to track and maintain accurate inventory records.

·        Generate reports and provide analysis on material usage, inventory levels, and procurement performance.

·        Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost savings within the RAW material planning and movement process.

·        Conduct regular inventory audits to reconcile discrepancies and ensure inventory accuracy.

  • Maintain documentation and records using paper forms and computer systems.

·        Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding safety, quality, and compliance.

  • Perform other duties as directed.

 

 ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

·        Organize and align the logistics department to meet daily goals and metrics.

·        Ensure staffing meets workload demands across multiple locations.

  • Demonstrate respectful leadership and cooperation to motivate employees.

·        Operate material handling equipment safely.

·        Handle "return to stock" tasks and coordinate inventory consolidation.

·        Direct bin location storage and maintain 5S areas.

Education required:

·        High school diploma or general education diploma (GED)

Range of Experience:

·        Experience using pallet jacks, scan guns, forklifts and reach truck.

·        3 to 5 years’ experience with WMS and ERP system.

·        3 to 5 years’ experience working in a manufacturing and warehouse environment, preferably as a Lead.

QUALIFICATIONS

·        Knowledge of factory products and quality control methods.

·        Ability to follow instructions and lead small groups effectively.

·        Proficiency in basic arithmetic calculations.

·        Self-motivated with strong organizational and time management skills.

·        Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines.

·        Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).

·        Experience in material receipt and production line staging.

·        Working knowledge of the production process.

·        Strong problem-solving skills.

·        Proficiency in task delegation and team management.
