Full Job Description
The Maintenance Supervisor will oversee maintenance of production equipment, support production with equipment issues, and support continuous improvement activities. The maintenance supervisor will drive equipment reliability through preventative and predictive maintenance to reduce machine downtime. This will require the need to determine the proper critical spare parts to have on hand. The candidate will train, develop, and lead the maintenance staff on all maintenance activities. This candidate will schedule maintenance staff to ensure maintenance activities are completed on time and to support daily production. Reporting to the engineering manager.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The successful candidate will be responsible to achieve “Maintenance Excellence” which can be measured by zero unplanned downtime on all equipment, successful total preventative and predictive maintenance plan and a cost effective plan for critical spares inventory.
Support down production equipment in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
Supervises, schedules, trains, and develops maintenance staff.
Updates and creates PM tasks and schedules.
Ensure PM and maintenance work orders are completed on time.
Order equipment parts and maintenance supplies.
Creates critical spare parts list for all major equipment.
Order and inventory critical parts, develop reordering process for parts.
Contact and schedule outside contractors as needed to support equipment.
Make recommendations for equipment upgrades or replacements and obtain quotes.
Oversee new equipment installation or upgrades.
Oversee that all maintenance areas are organized and follow good housekeeping practices.
Organize equipment manuals and documentation.
Create troubleshooting documents, drawings, schematics, etc
Follows company safety and health guidelines and other company policies.
Performs other work as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor Degree in Engineering field and/or equivalent experience in education and training.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in maintenance equipment (Lasers, Presses, Welders and Robots,etc)
Minimum of 5 years of experience in supervision, training and mentor maintenance employees.
Electrical knowledge 480 volt and below
Demonstrated application and commitment of customer satisfaction.
PLC controls, CNC equipment, and robot experience preferred.
Demonstrated application and commitment of customer satisfaction.
Good interpersonal oral and written communications skills.
Ability to maintain professional conduct when dealing with customers, peers, company representatives and suppliers.
Demonstrated self-starter and effective planning and organization skills.
Ability to participate as a member of a team, crossing department, divisional and company lines.
Ability to use PC and job related software/programs for programming, design and documentation/record keeping.
Willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and evening hours as demanded by project deadline requirements.
Ability to obtain and maintain a valid United States passport and out-of-country work visas. Require clear criminal and driving records
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Manufacturing work environment which includes; moving mechanical machine parts, potentially loud equipment, with exposure to a variety of non-hazardous and hazardous chemicals and airborne particles.
Hands-on work with machine tool equipment.
Computer screen viewing and keyboard entry.
Employee requirement to utilize safety guidelines and procedures.
