Style Crest, Inc. is a 50-year-old distributor and manufacturer of innovative building products for the residential and manufactured housing markets. We have an excellent career opportunity available for a Night Shift Manufacturing Supervisor to join our operation. This position will be responsible for Supervision and Coordination of the daily work activities with associates for their assigned shift in the Vinyl Department.
As Manufacturing Supervisor, this role performs the following (but not limited to) key responsibilities:
- Assigns associates to manufacturing line or work based on production schedule and associate skillset.
- Responsible for shift safety, quality, production, cost / raw material management, unplanned maintenance, housekeeping, and other operations.
- Provides leadership and supervision to production associates including extrusion operators, material handlers, trainers, packers, etcetera and maintains a leadership presence on the manufacturing floor.
- Identifies and utilizes technical resources such as shift leads and support staff as appropriate.
- Builds upon shift strengths and weaknesses to improve and grow shift.
- Promotes good shift morale, teamwork, and cohesiveness; informally leads Quality Technicians, Shift Maintenance, and Materials Associates.
- Identifies shift training needs; uses senior associates, trainers, support staff, work instructions, and other resources to close training gaps.
- Responsible for associate skill development to ensure associates learn and grow and shift functions as needed.
- Communicates with oncoming/off going shift supervisor to coordinate work to ensure proper shift transition.
- Promotes continuous improvement through working with supervisors on other shifts, support staff, and management.
- Continuously learns and grows as a shift supervisor and leader.
- Assists management and support staff with identifying and implementing next-level manufacturing strategy.
- Leads multiple manufacturing types including continuous vinyl extrusion, kitting, re-packaging, replenishing raw materials, etc.
- Completes shift paperwork such as production closeouts, staffing rosters, etc.
- Builds a team driven environment by identifying and building upon shift strengths and weaknesses.
Requirements
Qualified candidates should have at least 3 to 5 years of demonstrated supervisory experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment of at least similar size and complexity. Capable of understanding basic technical and manufacturing processes. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and ERP/MRP Reporting Systems. Excellent leadership abilities and strong organization and communication (verbal and written) skills. Must be a team player, be able to facilitate team building on shift and be able to resolve issues that occur on shift. Must be willing to work a 12 hour rotating night shift.
