Job Description:
We are currently seeking a proven professional to work on various projects within our Transportation Market. The Senior Project Engineer/Traffic Engineer will have demonstrated leadership and technical experience in the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) and municipal projects.
Our Project Engineer/Traffic Engineer will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of project types and for a variety of clients. Projects will include safety planning and design, roundabouts, corridor studies, and plans, design of traffic signals and advanced ITS systems, and many others.
This position offers hands-on training in the hot field of intelligent transportation systems and smart city infrastucture.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Provide traffic engineering design for a variety of LPA, DOT, and private clients.
- Produce and review traffic impact studies, safety studies, and traffic forecasting.
- Establishes guidelines for cost estimates. Reviews and approves estimates prepared by others.
- May function as Project Manager - demonstrating strong team, communication, and organization abilities.
- Frequently functions as a subject matter expert.
- Assure project understanding, approach, and technology fully address client, regulatory, and best practices technical issues.
- Independently develop projects. May be assigned as subject matter expert.
Requirements
MUST HAVE
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
- 7+ years’ experience as a Project Engineer/Traffic Engineer.
- Ohio PE License.
- Experience in MicroStation/Geopak/OpenRoads and/or AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
- Experience in design-related software such as SignCad and AutoTurn.
- Experience in HCS, Synchro/Simtraffic, VISSIM, TransModeler, SIDRA, Rodel.
- Applicant must have a valid driver’s license, good driving record, and proof of insurance.
- Must have strong communication skills and be team-orientated.
NICE TO HAVE
- P.T.O.E. preferred.
- Road Safety Professional is a plus.
- Travel demand modeling is a plus.
- Basic or advanced GIS capabilities desired.
- Knowledge of MUTCD policies and procedures.
