You and the Role
The Flooid Quality Engineer will collaborate with both technical and business team members, contribute to the creation of test scripts, execute and report on tests, and provide key expertise to the agile Engineering team on quality best practices and automation initiatives. Primary duties include:
- Working alongside QAs and QEs within a cross functional agile project team.
- Working with Business Analysts and Developers to produce feature file scenarios, test planning, and estimations.
- Identifying testing tasks for new user stories during planning sessions.
- Pairing with Developers in Test to obtain an understanding of automated test design in line with Test-Driven Development methodology within framework.
- Creating, maintaining, and monitoring automation tests, metrics and reviewing cases from other QEs.
- Owning defects through the STLC and identify trends to support the root cause.
- Ensuring all features that are built within the delivery teams have the sufficient level of test coverage.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
- Expert-level knowledge of and experience with the following:
- TDD & BDD (Cucumber / Gherkin)
- Selenium WebDriver / Cucumber / Cypress
- Modern test automation practices and tools in general
- IntelliJ / Eclipse
- Java Spring and SpringBoot frameworks
- Strong competence in the following areas:
- Mercurial and Git source control systems
- Concordion / Postman / REST Assured
- Page Object Model for web testing
- SQL and no-SQL databases (IBM DB2, MariaDB, PostgreSQL and MongoDB)
- Data languages (XML, JSON, YAML, etc.)
- Knowledge of the following:
- Atlassian toolset (JIRA / Confluence / Xray)
- CI pipeline tools (Jenkins)
- Windows & Linux environments
- Cloud deployments (primarily GCP)
- Mobile iOS / Android Testing
- Retail POS Testing
- Ability to build relationships with stakeholders and collaborators from across the business.
- Good oral and written communication skills, with a focus on attention to detail, accuracy, and quality.
- Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills, with the confidence to ask questions and challenge opinions when necessary.
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, having the ability to balance multiple responsibilities and tight timescales.

Location: United States – Remote or In-Office/Hybrid (primary office located in Cincinnati, Ohio). Because this role supports our global business, candidates should be based in the Eastern or Central Time Zones.
