Full Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Calibration Technician to join our Cal Tec Process Management Team, an Aldinger Company!
As the Senior Technician, you will perform calibrations according to company procedures and standards on measuring and testing equipment, tools, gauges, and fixtures as defined by the calibration schedule with minimal supervision. You will also be responsible for helping train and motivate our team of technicians.
Senior Calibration Technicians are responsible for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of calibrating various measuring devices and instruments across multiple fields. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in calibration procedures and a keen eye for detail.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
- Perform all duties in accordance with ISO 17025.
- Complete accurate and timely calibrations in the lab and on customer sites.
- Perform calibration, performance checks, and repair and maintenance on a variety of devices and instruments in accordance with established procedures and standards.
- Operate, maintain, and adjust calibration test equipment such as Calipers, Outside and Inside Micrometers, Pressure gages and Transducers, Thermometers (Glass, Bimetal, and Thermocouple), Digital Multimeters, and Oscilloscopes.
- Continually review all work processes, calibration, and test results for accuracy and completeness.
- Working directly with clients with effective communication to provide client updates and answer customer questions.
- Ensure all calibration complies with test and operation procedures, industry regulations, and quality standards.
- Ensure that all calibration and tests are conducted safely and in compliance with established safety standards.
- Prepare and maintain accurate calibration records and documentation, ensuring all data is accurate and up to date.
- Lead, Instruct, and Train junior technicians as required to complete calibration tasks and documentation. May serve as lead and assign work to less experienced personnel.
- Reviews work of junior technicians for quality; serves as a mentor when assisting less experienced staff in solving more complex problems.
- Help with planning/scheduling and performing calibrations on various devices and instruments.
- Oversee work performed by team members to ensure execution, resource allocation, and complete and accurate documentation.
Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in calibration
- Technical understanding and advanced troubleshooting skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
- Knowledge and experience with Electrical, Physical, and/or Mechanical Calibration of equipment
- Experience leading, training, and mentoring others on the team
- Experience working directly with customers
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Understanding of ISO17025 programs
- Ability and willingness to travel to customers’ locations in the Dayton, Ohio Area and some overnight out-of-state travel (once to twice a month up to one week at a time)
- Ability to adapt to multiple work environments and settings
- Able to lift 50lbs
- Able to climb, kneel, drive, and stand for long periods of time
- Must have a valid driver's license and a proof of insurance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree in Engineering, Electronics or other Technical Fields
- Technical Degree or Certificate
- Military PMEL Training
- Experience with IndySoft
