The Flooid Software Engineer designs, modifies, develops, writes, and implements software programming applications and operating systems as part of a team that is transforming and evolving our product suite. The right candidate will have a strong background in Java development and be energized by collaboration and creative problem solving.

You and the Role
The role of Flooid Software Engineer has great flexibility and the opportunity to work on a global scale with our wider Software Engineering team. Primary duties include:
- Developing and unit testing assigned software features and functionalities.
- Performing technical root cause analysis and outlining corrective action for complex problems and defects.
- Providing reliable solutions to various technical problems.
- Participating in daily meetings to communicate work progress and potential roadblocks.
- Presenting, collaborating and adding value to the company and team through participation in peer code reviews, providing comments, and offering suggestions.
- Seeking feedback early and iteratively.
- Continuously improving software delivery processes and practices for Flooid products.
- Applying a sense of urgency, commitment, and focus on the right priorities for developing Flooid solutions in a timely fashion.
- Working collaboratively and professionally with other Flooid associates in cross-functional teams to achieve business goals.
Skills & Experience
A successful Software Engineer at Flooid will be a pro-active self-starter with an eye for detail who collaborates effectively with team members and looks for opportunities to innovate. The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field and/or a combination of work experience and education.
- Strong experience in systems analysis, design, or programming.
- Strong experience in Java/J2EE and Open Source frameworks such as Spring.
- Demonstrated experience in the fundamentals of object-oriented programming.
- Demonstrated experience in the fundamentals of algorithmic design, problem solving, and complexity analysis.
- Demonstrated experience in the fundamentals of data structures.
- Heightened technical awareness and the ability to understand the reasoning and implications of technical decisions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills evincing a methodical approach to troubleshooting problems with varying degrees of complexity.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the confidence to ask questions and challenge opinions when necessary.
- Strong oral and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills – must be able to communicate and interact effectively with customers and coworkers.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to set priorities, handle multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
- Exceptional integrity and accountability – learning from mistakes and accepting guidance and suggestions for improvement.
- Ability to quickly develop a working knowledge of Flooid products and services.

Location: United States – Remote or In-Office/Hybrid (primary office located in Cincinnati, Ohio). Because this role supports our global business, candidates should be based in the Eastern or Central Time Zones.
