The Role:
We are seeking a Senior Calibration Technician to join our Huston-DePue team, an Aldinger company.
As the Senior Technician, you will be able to work with minimal supervision and be able to train and motivate our team of technicians.
Senior Calibration Technicians are responsible for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of calibrating various measuring devices and instruments in multiple fields including medical, aviation, oil, gas, and many more. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in calibration procedures and a keen eye for detail.
Location: At our Huston-DePue branch office in Oklahoma City, OK and occasionally on-site at various customer sites
Day to Day Responsibilities:
- Perform all duties in accordance with ISO 17025 and our Quality Management System
- Complete accurate and timely calibrations in lab and occasionally on customer sites
- Perform calibration, performance checks, and repair and maintenance on a wide variety of instruments in accordance with established procedures and standards.
- Operate, maintain, and repair to laboratory calibration standards
- Continually review all work processes, calibration, and test results for accuracy and completeness.
- Work directly with clients with effective communication to provide client updates and answer customer questions.
- Ensure all calibration complies with test and operation procedures and with industry regulations and quality standards.
- Ensure that all calibration and tests are conducted safely and in compliance with established safety standards.
- Prepare and maintain accurate calibration records and documentation, ensuring all data is accurate and up to date.
- Lead, Instruct, and Train junior technicians as required to complete calibration tasks and documentation. May serve as the lead and assign work to less experienced personnel.
- Reviews work of lower-level technicians for quality; serves as a mentor when assisting less experienced staff in solving more complex problems.
- Help with planning/scheduling and performing calibrations on a wide variety of Instruments.
- Oversee work performed by team members to ensure execution, resource allocation and complete, accurate documentation.
Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
- One of the following: Military PMEL Training and Certification OR Associate's Degree in Engineering, Electronics, or other Technical Fields OR Technical Degree or Certificate OR equivalent work experience in Calibrations
- 5 years + of experience in calibration
- Technical understanding and advanced troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge and experience with Electrical, Physical, and/or Mechanical Calibration of equipment
- Experience leading, training and mentoring others on the team
- Experience scheduling and working directly with customers
- Experience with Quality Management Systems
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record
