Who We Are
Discogs is the largest crowd-sourced, community-driven database of recorded music information in the world. Every day, millions of people use the Discogs Marketplace to connect, learn about music, and buy and sell vinyl records, CDs, and cassettes. As Discogs continues to grow, we are looking for bright, dedicated, creative, and highly motivated people to help us realize our mission to serve the music fan in everyone. We are relatively small, so individual contributions can have a large impact. High value is placed on quality, critical thinking, and continuous improvement. Our teams work collaboratively but are distributed geographically and open-source tools are important to who we are and how we work. We value the experiences and skills each team member contributes to helping us serve our music community.
Who We’re Looking For
The Digital Content Creator will be responsible for producing dynamic, engaging content across all digital channels to support Discogs' mission of connecting music lovers and expanding the record collecting culture. This role will execute Discogs' marketing strategy by creating innovative multimedia content that resonates with seasoned collectors and new audiences. This position is crucial in shaping how Discogs tells the story of the record collector’s journey and enhances user engagement across our platform.
What You’ll Accomplish
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Content Ideation & Creation: Develop compelling, story-driven content that resonates with the Discogs' community. This includes creating videos, graphics, and animations that capture the essence of record collecting and amplify Discogs' marketing strategy throughout social media (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, etc.), Digs, email campaigns, and a range of opportunities across our platforms.
- Multi-Channel Content Production: Produce and adapt content for multiple platforms, including social media (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, etc.), Discogs Digs, email campaigns, and external channels like YouTube and podcasts, ensuring content is optimized for each platform's unique format and audience.
- Community-Centric Storytelling: Capture and highlight stories from the Discogs community, such as user-generated content, collector features, and real-world experiences. Amplify these stories across platforms to drive deeper community connection and brand loyalty.
- Social Media Growth: Lead the creation of organic and paid social content that grows Discogs' social presence. Manage social campaigns, create compelling narratives, monitor engagement, and use social tools to track performance and optimize content in real-time.
- Cross-Platform Integration & Adaptation: Adapt content for cross-promotion across different digital platforms and third-party integrations (e.g., Google Shopping, Reddit, etc.). Ensure consistency and quality as content flows from organic to paid channels across multiple touchpoints.
- Trend & Platform Innovation: Stay ahead of trends in content creation, digital media, and emerging platforms to create fresh, relevant content that resonates with younger, digitally-native audiences. Constantly explore new tools, technologies, and creative opportunities.
- SEO & Search-Optimized Content: Ensure content is optimized for search, driving organic visibility and rankings. Collaborate with SEO stakeholders to develop and maintain keyword-rich, discoverable content for Discogs Digs, social channels, and beyond.
- Performance Analysis: Monitor and analyze key performance metrics to measure the success of content initiatives. Prepare regular reports on content performance, providing insights and recommendations for improvement. Use data-driven insights to refine and optimize content strategies. Identify top-performing content and, in collaboration with the marketing team, develop strategies for amplifying it through paid channels. Work closely with performance marketing to ensure successful paid social campaigns that align with Discogs' marketing goals.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Content Marketing Team to align content with overall marketing strategies and goals. Collaborate with the entire marketing organization to ensure content supports broader marketing goals and initiatives.
- Strategic Innovation: Generate innovative ideas to solve problems, connect with influencers, and drive audience engagement. Gather insights from industry experts to build authority and credibility in content.
