We are seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to evolve, enhance and grow Yes Society, an intimate, digitally native membership offering private access to highly rare wines from the best producers in the world. We cater to discerning members who value exceptional quality, curated experiences, and personalized service. As such, we are looking for a candidate with a strong sense of agency, the highest level of attention to detail, and a passion for and understanding of the Yes Society mission and brand.
This Director of Operations (DOO) will be an instrumental driver in the operations and growth of Yes Society, responsible both for working with leadership to drive strategies for stability and growth as well as with the team and our members on elevating programming, executing strategic initiatives, and managing all day-to-day operations. They will work closely with the President, Wine Director, Vice President of Communications, Vice President of Sales, as well as the Program Manager, to run all initiatives, programming and activities related to Yes Society.
The DOO must be a self-motivated and goal-oriented individual who thrives in both independent and dynamic working environments. The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of leadership with a solid understanding of marketing, operations, client relations, event coordination, and marketplace procurement, alongside ability to manage a profitable P&L. Experience in working with and scaling a digitally native business is a plus.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop (through partnership with leadership) the overall business strategy in alignment with company goals and objectives.
- Drive growth and profitability while maintaining the highest standards of quality and service.
- Manage the budget and continually monitor the financial health of the business
- Grow and manage team of freelancers and agency partners, and future FTEs
- Oversee the digital platform and user experience, ensuring a seamless and engaging member experience that is reflective of the brand while also being high-converting. Includes sharp oversight of waitlist to membership customer journey as well as managing the gated marketplace of wines, communications to members, exclusive event programming, and special content.
- Partner with key team members and external resources to expand marketing initiatives, to optimize conversion, grow membership, and strengthen retention rates.
- Streamline operational processes to enhance efficiency and scalability and build best-in-class experiences to our members
- Oversee logistics, inventory, and fulfillment between internal and external partners to ensure timely delivery of bi-annual shipments and marketplace orders to members
- Cultivate strong relationships with members, focusing on personalized communication and exceptional service while also standing up proper programming, automation, and resources that may enable scale.
- Implement strategies to increase member satisfaction, loyalty, and lifetime value.
- Collaborate with marketing and operations teams to create memorable and impactful events for members and prospective members alike.
- Partner with Wine Director to ensure strong pipelines of sourcing and rare, unique offerings to our private members.
- Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial performance metrics.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators, leveraging data to make informed decisions and implement strategies to achieve financial, retention and growth targets.
- Management of existing internal team and external partners, as well as building & hiring future FTEs and specialized resources to expand the business.
Requirements
- Proven experience (8+ years) in a senior leadership role within ecommerce, operations, or related fields, ideally within the luxury goods, ecommerce and/or wine industry.
- High level of integrity and dependability
- Strong understanding of marketing, ecommerce platforms (especially Shopify Plus), and subscription memberships.
- Exceptional leadership and managerial skills, with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans and initiatives.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer-centricity and member relations.
- Ability to work within Teams and Microsoft Office Suite
- Superior organization, process creation, and project management skills
- Must be at least 21 years of age
