La Pine Community Kitchen is a nonprofit charitable organization established for the purpose of providing the necessities of life -- food and clothing -- at no cost to those who desire or need them regardless of race, creed, gender, or financial need. Our mission is to feed and clothe people with dignity and respect in a safe and welcoming environment.

General Purpose:

A Grant Writer’s responsibilities include researching grant opportunities and writing compelling grant proposals to acquire funding. Working closely with La Pine Community Kitchens’ General Manager (GM) and Board of Directors (BOD) to understand the organization’s financial needs so as to ensure adequate funding is attained each year.

• Organizational and writing skills.
• Knowledge of nonprofit origination.
• Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management skills.
• Knowledge and experience with computer software, and ability to adapt to new software.
• Experience working with a diverse group of clients and the ability to interact with clients respectfully and with empathy.
• Strong positive and professional communication and customer service skills to interact and communicate with staff, volunteers, and community members.
• Dependable and reliable attendance.
• Requires walking, sitting, typing, viewing a computer screen, standing, and some lifting.
