Stile Education

Portland, oregon

Job Details

Full-time

Full Job Description

In today’s rapidly evolving world, science education is no longer optional – it’s essential. With automations and powerful AI technology on the rise, the fastest growing jobs are those that require STEM skills. With information everywhere and sources questionable, knowing how to critically analyze data has become non-negotiable. The world needs scientifically literate thinkers, and that’s where Stile comes in.

At Stile, our mission is clear: to give every student a world-class science education, empowering them to navigate the complex world of tomorrow. We achieve this by working hand-in-hand with the real change-makers – teachers.

What we do

Stile provides teachers with everything teachers need to deliver relevant, engaging, and impactful science lessons. From hands-on labs and engineering challenges to real-world simulations and assessments, all powered by our cutting-edge teaching technology, Stile empowers educators to bring science to life. With Stile, teachers become classroom superheroes.

Our impact so far

Over 1.5 million students and 50,000 teachers worldwide have benefited from Stile in their classrooms, and we’re only getting started.

We need you

Join us on this exciting journey to reshape the future of education across the US.

This job is for you if:

  • You know in your bones that the best use of your precious time on this planet is to improve education
  • You’ve got an entrepreneurial spirit, and haven’t yet found where to channel that energy.
  • You’ve got the drive to get out and about, away from a computer monitor, and work with teachers and leaders around the country.

Yes, this is a sales role… but a sales role like no other. At Stile sales is about authentic relationships, talking about evidence-based pedagogy, and showing teachers how to best use Stile with their students. From there, the product will do the selling for you.

What you’ll be doing

Here are some of the things you’ll be doing to help change the game in science education:

  • Collaborating with marketing
Our team is small, motivated and smart. You’ll find yourself locking minds with our marketing folk to design unique and powerful marketing campaigns.
  • Generating your own leads
You’ll get plenty of leads from marketing, but in our view any salesperson worth their salt also generates their own leads. So you’ll be making calls ahead of travel, and dropping by district offices to show your face and get your foot in the door.
  • Exhibiting at conferences
We make beautiful conference booths. You’ll find yourself at science teacher conferences around the country, showing teachers firsthand how Stile can supercharge their science classrooms.
  • Hosting professional learning events
We run our own events too – think professional learning crossed with a beer at the pub. Our average NPS is a staggering 85. Why? Because we make sure to have fun and provide practical professional learning that can be put into practice the very next day.
  • Building meaningful relationships
You’ll be taking the time to deeply understand the strategic priorities of district decision-makers through conversation. You’ll then collaborate with those leaders to craft and implement solutions to get them there.
  • Teaching (!)
Didn’t think you’d step foot in the classroom (again)? Think twice! You’ll find yourself in front of students showing just how Stile can facilitate powerful learning moments. It’s fun for you, invigorating for students, and gives teachers a moment to sit back and enjoy.

About you

There are no qualification prerequisites for this role.

Figuring out if this role is for you is simple:

  1. Read this job ad in full.

  4. If yes: apply. 🙂

Life at Stile

Stile is run by the people who started and own the company. We’re here to build something real and enduring. A company that in years to come we look back on and are proud of what we achieved, and how we achieved it.

  • Work on something that really matters.
Stile is a place for people who want to have impact.  Spend your time working on a positive impact at a scale much much bigger than the walls of a school building.
  • Colleagues worth working with.
You’ll join an amazing global 75-strong team of teachers, scientists, artists and engineers. You’ll make life-long friends with like-minded colleagues.
  • A culture of quality
If you’ve worked in a job where you’ve wanted to pull your hair out because of rampant mediocrity then you’ll love Stile. We’re completely obsessed with quality products and quality experiences. Everything from the penning of a customer email to the clarity of a student-facing question means everything to us.
  • Community.
In this role, you’ll build an incredible network of teachers, school and district leaders and STEM professionals right across the US.
  • Flexibility.
We care about results, not hours worked. You’ll have flexible working hours and will be the master of your own schedule.
  • Support always.
Stile is its people, and it’s important we are creating an environment where you’re supported, happy and able to do your best work. We provide United’s Silver health care package, vision and dental insurance, employer contributions to 401(k), up to four weeks of PTO annually, free counselling sessions, and much more.
  • Your own professional development.
We’re lifelong learners here at Stile. Alongside teaching you everything you need to know to succeed in this role, we provide a generous PD allowance.

Hours and location

This is a full-time, permanent role for someone based in Portland that loves to travel.

If you’re not on the road you’ll be collaborating with your colleagues in our light-filled high-ceiling office located in the South-East, close to great coffee and even better food.

How to apply

Read the details below then click apply and be sure to include the following for your application to be accepted:

  • A cover letter addressed to Kat Gentry explaining why you’d hit this role out of the park (one page, max).
