Full Job Description
The Senior Payroll Administrator is responsible for maintaining the integrity of payroll processes to ensure accurate and timely payroll for Caring for Family of Companies employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations. This role is responsible for streamlining and establishing a sustainable foundation of payroll processes while supporting a fast-paced and high-growth environment.
- Responsible for understanding the pay practices associated with the property and verifying timecard calculation is accurate.
- Review payroll source documents, then identify and reconcile discrepancies including time records and other related documents ensuring the accuracy of payroll processing.
- Review garnishments and assist the tax and garnishment team's responses to agencies and interrogatories when needed.
- Communicates with the Human Resources Department to ensure the integrity of the payroll data including data related to new hires, terminations, transfers, and rate changes. Makes updates as necessary.
- Maintain appropriate records, files, and documentation for payroll and timekeeping systems and relative audits.
- Conduct regular payroll reviews and ensure accuracy and compliance with labor laws, tax regulations, and statutory requirements.
- Research and resolve questions as they relate to payroll information.
- Processes any special payrolls including but not limited to the quarterly bonus and year-end adjustment payrolls.
- Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end functions as needed.
- Complete special projects as deemed necessary by the executive team.
- Duties and tasks are varied and complex, are performed under general supervision, and typically require ingenuity.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of Paylocity.
- Knowledge of payroll best practices with a strong emphasis on federal and state regulations, including multi-state payroll experience.
- Flexibility, organization, and the ability to multitask while working under time constraints and deadlines.
- Good verbal and written communication skills are imperative.
- Able to work well with people and maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
- Associate's degree (A. A.) or three years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
