About You
You are a senior-level website developer with deep knowledge of WordPress, Shopify, and potentially other popular CMS systems and technologies like Webflow, Framer, and CraftCMS. You understand WCAG and accessibility guidelines. You are very familiar with custom, template, and hybrid solutions for web design and development. Not only do you understand these technologies but you understand how they solve client problems and how to sell these solutions to clients. You are great with people and building relationships. You are an exceptional problem solver and creative thinker. You are experienced in leading small web dev teams on a range of website projects with tight deadlines.
About the Role
You will report to the owner and participate in the leadership team. You will be responsible for ensuring that our web development work reflects our values, standards, and client promises. You will be responsible for integrating Murmur's business strategy and initiatives into the dev department's operations. You will meet with potential clients to identify their needs and help sell them solutions. You will lead continuous process improvement efforts, enact efficiencies, ensure projects stay on track, manage employees, and maintain a positive culture.
Job Duties
Manage a small team of in-house developers and freelancers, partners
Conduct regular employee 1:1’s and team meetings
Monitor performance, complete employee performance reviews, and train and mentor team members.
Attend management meetings and contribute insights and improvement opportunities
Sell potential and existing clients on web projects, retainers, and more
Scope work and create contracts
Estimate hours required to develop various technical solutions
Set expectations and assignments with team members
Ensure timelines are being met according to the project plan (including rolling up your sleeves and helping get the work done)
Interview and hire new developers in conjunction with HR
Develop relationships with clients and freelance talent
Maintain a working level of knowledge of all website phases in order to assist with questions and contribute your expertise to the strategy and design phases.
Perform other duties as needed and/or directed
Salary Range
$85k - $105k
Requirements
At least 5 years of experience in a leadership role facilitating the development of websites
Experience developing (coding) complex websites for organizations from Figma files
In-depth eCommerce knowledge
