Global Life Science Hub is proud to announce an exciting partnership with a leading global trailblazer who is revolutionizing pharmaceutical excellence with integrated services spanning from drug development to commercialization. With ambitious plans to expand their Pennsylvania site by 3x fold this year, were excited to be leading a search for a brand-new Director of Technical Operations.
The primary responsibility of the Director of Technical Operations is to oversee the critical functions of the plant’s operations across all value streams, particularly with a strong focus on the Drug Device Combo unity. The appointed candidate will lead a team of process engineers and provide technical guidance and support.
Position: Director of Engineering & Technical Operations
Responsibilities:
- Lead and inspire the DDC Process Engineering team, setting clear goals and objectives that align with departmental, plant, and corporate objectives.
- Monitor workload and staffing levels to ensure optimal resource allocation within budgetary constraints.
- Guide the process engineers in conducting root cause analysis for device assembly, labeling, and packaging equipment and process inefficiencies.
- Ensure timely completion of Quality Management System (QMS) tasks such as CAPAs, DNs, and Change Controls.
- Provide technical training to operations staff on device assembly, labeling, and packaging equipment and processes as needed.
- Monitor and track progress of product launches, ensuring engineering actions are completed on time.
- Support DDC product launches by facilitating customer meetings and leading technical solution brainstorming sessions.
- Collaborate with the Continuous Improvement Manager to identify and eliminate waste from processes, with a focus on improving quality, reducing lead time, increasing capacity, and reducing costs.
- Partner with Quality leaders to ensure effective CAPAs are implemented in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Collaborate with other Engineering leaders to maintain and improve engineering systems and processes.
- Utilize Lean Six Sigma tools and coach engineers to address complex problems effectively
- Adhere to all relevant policies and procedures, including cGMP and GCP guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Manager/Supervisor.
Experience/Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field and/or 7-10 years of related experience and/or training.
- Strong mathematical skills at the college level.
- Advanced computer skills, capable of handling complex tasks and operating various programs.
- Full professional proficiency in verbal and written communication.
- Exceptional reasoning abilities, including problem definition, data collection, and analysis.
