Echo Technician

Responsibilities:

• Conduct transthoracic echocardiograms on pediatric patients of varying ages.
• Generate comprehensive preliminary reports detailing findings and accurate measurements.
• Proficient in imaging a broad spectrum of congenital heart diseases, from non-complex to complex cases.
• Possess in-depth knowledge of cardiac morphology, physiology, and various surgical repairs in pediatric cardiology.
• Perform interrogation and imaging of different surgical repairs as required.
• Assist physicians during transesophageal echocardiograms and maintain associated equipment.
• Maintain accurate patient records in the data system and handle billing tasks effectively.

Skills & Abilities:

• Ability to establish rapport and work effectively with pediatric patients, putting them at ease during procedures.
• Excellent communication skills with peers, patients, and families.
• Demonstrate competency in providing age-appropriate care in the ECHO lab setting.
• Familiarity with computer systems preferred.

Requirements

Education Requirements:

• 2-year/Associate degree in relevant field.

Experience:

• Previous experience in a related role preferred.

Certification and Licensure:

• Certification from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) or ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) required.
