Full Job Description
TFH USA is a subsidiary of TFH Holdings Ltd, a UK-based company with operations in the US, UK, Canada and Sweden.
The business is directly involved in marketing our exclusive toys and Multi-Sensory Environments (MSE) to the special needs market. Our customer base includes important distributors, retailers, specialist installers, schools (and other institutions), as well as parents of children with special needs. In 2024, TFH USA had sales of over $4,000,000, and the group had over $10,000,000.
Our 35-year history in the design, manufacture, and distribution of therapeutic and educational sensory products worldwide has established us as the “go-to” company in the special needs toys industry. We are leaders in innovative sensory products that complement any multisensory program, and most are made in our UK plant.
This role will take over from the current GM, who is retiring shortly. The new GM will have the opportunity to lead a small enthusiastic team responsible for our US business. The new GM will work with the TFH global board to help grow the important US market for our exciting products.
Requirements
You will be an experienced leader looking for a purpose-driven organisation where the outcomes for our customers are our priority and where you can make a difference in the lives of the special needs community.
You would describe yourself as a pragmatic business leader: someone who can get the best out of their team and bring that focus on teamwork and a knowledge of working with distributors, schools and retailers to enhance our offering in the market and drive our growth.
Comfortable working with figures, you are known for prioritising steady growth above taking wild swings, able to gain small wins to achieve a larger goal.
What we are looking for is not a stereotypical sales-driven manager but a person with the following qualities:
- Honesty, loyalty, and empathy with both staff and customers.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Hard work, enthusiasm, and an entrepreneurial outlook.
- Basic financial acumen and IT skills.
- A capacity for learning and embracing new ideas.
This role will allow you to focus on bringing your existing commercial skills in marketing and sales to the next level of leadership, taking ownership of a business.
Someone with experience in the education management environment or within industries that are aligned to the special needs market would be advantageous for the role.
