Company Overview: Position Overview:
The Inventory Supply Construction Specialist plays a critical role in managing and optimizing inventory levels for construction projects. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The specialist will be responsible for overseeing the procurement, storage, distribution, and tracking of construction materials and supplies to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management:
- Develop and maintain inventory control procedures to ensure accurate tracking of construction materials and supplies.
- Monitor inventory levels and anticipate supply needs to prevent shortages and delays in construction projects.
- Conduct regular inventory audits to reconcile discrepancies and identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Implement strategies to optimize inventory turnover and minimize carrying costs.
- Source and procure construction materials and supplies from approved vendors and suppliers.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to obtain the best value for materials.
- Evaluate vendor performance and maintain relationships to ensure timely delivery of quality materials.
- Continuously seek new suppliers and alternative sources to diversify the supply chain and mitigate risks.
- Coordinate the transportation and delivery of materials to construction sites in accordance with project schedules.
- Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to prioritize deliveries and allocate resources efficiently.
- Implement systems for tracking and documenting the movement of materials from procurement to installation.
- Address any logistical challenges or delays that may arise during the transportation and distribution process.
- Inspect incoming materials for quality and compliance with specifications and regulatory standards.
- Document and report any discrepancies or issues related to the quality of materials received.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards for the handling and storage of construction materials.
- Work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to address quality concerns and implement corrective actions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Previous experience in inventory management, procurement, or logistics, preferably in the construction industry.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of construction materials, building codes, and industry regulations.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
