We’re seeking a part-time QA Engineer to assist us with our ongoing hardware and software testing. You will be working closely with the Lead QA Engineer and Director of Engineering with testing, bug management, and quality resolutions. This is a highly cross-functional role and requires excellent communication.
Responsibilities:
- Testing: Perform thorough manual testing of mobile applications, native Android software, back-end APIs, and other systems, ensuring proper functionality, performance, and data consistency.
- Collaboration: Collaborate closely with product leaders, designers, engineers, and cross-functional teams to understand product specifications, identify system requirements, and potential issues.
- Bug Management: Identify, record, document, and track bugs, collaborating with the engineering team to ensure timely resolution of issues.
- Quality Advocacy: Provide feedback and recommendations to improve product quality, advocate for QA best practices throughout the software development lifecycle, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in the QA process.
Meetings and Communication: Attend regular team meetings to discuss testing priorities, outcomes, and stay updated with the latest QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in the quality assurance field
- Hands-on testing experience with mobile/tablet devices (Android + iOS)
- Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile testing, and software testing methodologies
- Business requirements/specifications review and analysis from a customer standpoint
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Test case/test plan creation, modification, and maintenance
- Ability to identify and foresee requirement gaps
- Log and track defects throughout the defect lifecycle
- Defect isolation, troubleshooting, reporting, management, and test results analysis
Benefits
- Hours: Up to 20 Hours - Ideally, 4 hrs per day, but flexible
- Hourly Rate: $35-40/hr
- Contract Length: Up to 6-month and open to extend
