Summary
This Senior Software Developer is involved in the development and support of the applications and platforms that drive our business. This position will work in a diverse technological environment with multiple platforms and programming languages.
This position is a senior member of a team creating and maintaining the systems including applications for all aspects of the medical device alerting processes. These applications include a full CRM/ERP system, iOT management, device ordering and fulfillment processes, finance, and data warehouse systems.
Primary responsibilities of this role include designing, developing, and testing the software components that drive the business systems. This role is a key contributor to development cycles and manages business expectations for distributed applications and services.
Responsibilities:
- Direct software developers in performing design and development tasks.
- Assist in the definition, development, and documentation of software business requirements, objectives, deliverables, and specifications on a project-by-project basis in collaboration with internal users and departments.
- Contribute to defining software development project plans, including scoping, scheduling, and implementation.
- Research, identify, analyze, and fulfill requirements for internal and external users.
- Provide technical and analytical support for internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop intuitive web applications, web components, and web services.
- Maintain current knowledge of IT development methodology, architectural design, and technical standards.
- Work with business partners and outside vendors to collect, create and confirm project business requirements.
- Test and manage project deployments and production releases.
- Identify tasks and issues that may have an impact on service levels or schedules.
- Provides realistic task deliverables estimates.
- Troubleshooting and debugging for both project work and support initiatives.
- Support and mentor new and more junior team members.
- Provide application and process support on a rotating basis with other development team members.
Requirements
Tech Skill Requirements:
Strong Knowledge of:
- Developing in a few; C#, Java, JS, NodeJS, PHP, C++, Python, and shell scripting.
- Secure application development practices, including data structures, algorithms, enterprise systems, and asynchronous architectures.
- OOP and Design Patterns.
- Services Oriented Architecture and RESTful services development (JSON, XML). Working knowledge of microservices.
- Design Patterns.
- HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and front-end frameworks.
- Building enterprise web applications. Ability to leverage responsive design for mobile devices.
- Software development tools: git, debugger, and profiling tools.
- Data modeling and database programming skills in SQL.
- Web Servers (IIS or Apache).
- Infrastructure systems (servers, systems administration, and Unix/Linux scripting skills).
- Networks, firewalls, load balancers and concepts with the ability to provide requirements to the infrastructure team as well as provide troubleshooting assistance.
Education/Experience:
The role requires a BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related field with 5+ years of overall development experience. Must have excellent verbal communication, written communication, and social interaction skills.
Work Hours and Travel Requirements:
Candidate must be open to assisting in troubleshooting and analysis in the event of off-hours production problems, as needed. The IT Team works in a hybrid environment that requires a minimum of one to two days per week in the Philadelphia office.
