Tax Accountant

Smoker & Company is a successful, busy CPA firm with multiple office locations in Lancaster and Berks County. Smoker & Company and its related Family of Companies provides business services spanning various client needs such as bookkeeping, payroll, legal services, consulting, wealth management, property management, and insurance (among others).

Our mission is to meet the total accounting, tax, and business development needs of our clients in order to enhance the value of the business and individuals we are privileged to serve.

We are currently seeking experienced Accountants to support our growing client base.. We offer a base salary depending on relevant experience in addition to benefits as well as performance-based bonuses.

Requirements

• Preparing tax returns and related tax workpapers
• Communicating with clients regarding their tax records and tax returns
• Providing solutions for client needs
• Applying tax laws to benefit our clients and minimize their tax obligations
• Additional accounting projects as dictated by business needs

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required
• Experience in Public Accounting
• Desire to become a CPA
• Proficient working knowledge of technical areas relating to income tax, payroll, software programs, and financial statements
• Ability to maintain current knowledge of tax law changes in all relevant jurisdictions
• Strong professional ethics / integrity / reliability
• Dedication to providing and ensuring exceptional client services
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with clients and team members
• Willingness to expand skills and adaptability to change
• Solid understanding of taxes
• Excellent planning and organizational skills
• A minimum of three years of directly-relevant experience
• Experience with QuickBooks
• Experience with UltraTax Accounting Software is a plus!
• Enrolled Agent (EA) license is a plus!
