I. SUMMARY:
A picker is a role typically found in warehouses, distribution centers, and fulfillment centers. The primary responsibility of a picker is to locate and retrieve specific items or products from designated storage areas in order to fulfill customer orders or replenish stock. The job description of a picker can vary depending on the industry and company, but here are some common tasks and responsibilities associated with this role:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Review picking lists, work orders, or digital devices to determine which items need to be picked. • Locate the items within the warehouse or storage area using a variety of tools, such as handheld scanners, conveyor systems, or manual methods. • Monitor inventory levels and report discrepancies or shortages. • Ensure that picked items are in good condition and free from damage. Properly package and label items to prepare them for shipping or transfer to other departments. • Ensure that items are neatly organized and arranged for easy access and inventory tracking. Inspect items for quality and accuracy to ensure they meet the company's standards. • Report damaged or defective items for replacement or repair. Follow safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries. • Comply with company policies and procedures related to picking and warehouse operations. Operate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or order-picking machines if required by the job. Maintain accurate records of items picked, quantities, and locations. • Document any discrepancies or issues that arise during the picking process. Strive to meet productivity targets and deadlines for order fulfillment. • Optimize picking routes and methods to maximize efficiency. Coordinate with other warehouse staff, such as packers, supervisors, or shippers, to ensure smooth workflow. • Report any problems or delays in the picking process to the appropriate personnel.
Requirements
High School Diploma
Forklift license.
Experience in warehousing.
1-2 years Reach Truck Experience
