Safety Specialist (Risk, Audit, & Compliance) | Greenville, SC

The Sunshine House Early Learning Academy's corporate office is seeking a Safety Specialist (Risk, Audit & Compliance) to work proactively to prevent workplace accidents and promote health & safety awareness with our risk management team. If you are a detail-oriented, highly-organized individual with previous health & safety, risk, or audit experience, we would love to meet you!

Salary Range: $42,000-$47,000/year, based on experience, education, and credentials.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Evaluate health and safety practices and procedures to ensure the safety of children and employees.
  • Conduct detailed on-site school audits weekly. Work one-on-one with schools to improve deficiencies identified during audits. Travel to schools up to 50%.
  • Investigate incidents and work collaboratively with management team to determine cause and resolution.
  • Assess and analyze potential hazards. Consider the implications of each danger to determine its seriousness, and make recommendations to management for correction.
  • File, track, and report insurance claims.
  • Prepare and present risk assessment reports and proposals.
  • Prepare presentations and provide impactful trainings for small and large groups. Provide staff with risk awareness training and support.
  • Review and provide recommendations to existing policies and procedures; conduct policy and compliance audits.

Requirements

  • Ability to travel up to 50%, with overnight stays required.
  • Minimum of two years of risk management or insurance administration experience.
  • Experience in the childcare industry a strong plus.
  • Proficiency using an online ticketing system, iAuditor or similar software, insurance claim portals, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Highly-detailed with strong organizational skills required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to learn and take initiative to solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
