SUMMARY:
The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) is responsible for coordinating all part supplier activities, monitoring supplier performance and approving all new part submissions in accordance with ISRINGHAUSEN product and customer requirements. As the supplier liaison, the SQE coordinates containment activities, performs supplier audits and recommends supplier quality and process improvements. As part of the quality team, the SQE collaborates with other engineers and team members and participates in strategic development to achieve corporate objectives.
Requirements
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Identify technical problems with supplied parts and subassemblies to initiate corrective actions in a timely manner,
· Review supplier 8Ds for appropriate responses and provide feedback for improvement,
· Maintain up-to-date supplier part approvals, certifications, and contact information,
· Conduct on-site supplier audits to verify conformance and identify opportunities for improvement,
· Establishing schedules for reviewing and reporting supplier performance,
· Develop and deliver supplier performance reports per the established reporting schedule,
· Track and qualify or disqualify suppliers according to ISRINGHAUSEN's standards,
· Coordinate supplier PPAP submissions per established timeline,
· Support Safe Launch and sample part builds to ensure compliance to dimensional and functional requirements,
· Assist in the development, implementation and improvement of supplier management programs,
· Support internal and third-party audits of internal processes,
· Maintain successful relationships with supply, engineering, manufacturing, and regulatory departments,
· Provides technical support for purchasing, quality, engineering and production personnel,
· Execute and track cost of supplier nonconformance (chargebacks) and report to management/accounting,
· Increase supplier quality reliability using their quality engineering skills, training and experience.

III. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This job may have supervisory responsibilities over supplier liaisons, when applicable.
IV. QUALIFICATIONS:

V. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Degree in Industrial or Mechanical engineering or science preferred 3 to 5 years of related manufacturing experience in Supplier Quality, preferably with an automotive tier 1 supplier or OEM. Experience in a Just-In-Time series production environment is a plus. Must also possess a working knowledge of AIAG Core Tools and have experience participating in ISO 9001 or VDA 6.3 audits. ISO 9001, IATF 16949 and/or VDA 6.3 auditor certification is a plus.
VI. LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common instructional documents and reports in English. Ability to respond with good verbal and written communication in regard to blue prints and reports. Must also have strong communication skills to foster supplier relationships, develop performance reports and present their conclusions to the Quality Assurance Manager.
- Fluent is German language is a plus.
VII. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to comprehend and apply principles of basic math, calibrations and statistics.
VIII. REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to use advanced analytical skills to find innovative solutions to quality-related issues.

X. WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Normal amount of sitting and standing, average mobility to move around an office and plant environment, able to conduct normal amount of work on a computer. Required travel will consist of traveling from plant to plant (ISRINGHAUSEN, Supplier, and Customer); including international travel may be required.
