As a Surgery Veterinary Technician at Fetch, you'll have a vital role in assisting our veterinarians during surgical procedures. Your responsibilities will include preparing surgical equipment and instruments, monitoring patients throughout surgery, and ensuring a sterile surgical environment. Responsibilities:
- Assist with pre-operative preparations, including patient assessment, bloodwork, and surgical suite setup
- Monitor anesthesia during procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort
- Assist with surgical procedures, including sterile draping, instrument handling, and suturing
- Provide post-operative care, including wound management and pain management
- Maintain accurate medical records and communicate with clients about their pet's surgical progress
- Collaborate with veterinary surgeons and other team members to provide comprehensive care to our patients
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Veterinary Technician in a surgery department
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and techniques
- Associate's degree in Veterinary Technology or related field preferred
- Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) or Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) preferred
- Ability to monitor anesthesia and respond to anesthesia-related emergencies
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
