Full Job Description
Summary of Position
The Health Center Transport/Assistant is responsible for general assistance in the operations of the Health Center.
Principle areas of responsibility include transporting students to appointments and providing student and office support.
This is a non-exempt full-time school year position, with opportunities for occasional hours in the summertime.
Accountability
Reports to the Director of Health and Wellness.

Supports health and wellness initiatives.
Maintains privacy, confidentiality and security of patient information at all times.
Responsibilities
1. Transports students to and from in-town and out-of-town medical and health appointments. Ensures that Provider’s
appointment notes are returned to the appropriate coordinating nurse for follow-up.
2. Leads scheduling and ensuring all students receive annual dental care and eye care exams, and necessary follow-up
appointments.
3. Responsible for local errands such as: pharmacy needs, home medical, eyeglasses repair, groceries, on and offcampus supply purchases.
4. Assists nurses with the care of students confined to the Health Center. Includes monitoring temperatures, reporting
any health concerns to a nurse, preparing fluids, snacks, and meals, and monitoring student food supply. Also
includes participating in Medication Administration training.
5. Assists with head lice evaluation, reporting, and treatment.
6. Assists with monitoring and organizing non-medical Health Center supplies and evaluating donated items to
determine usability.
7. Along with other Health Center staff, provides clinical assistance by preparing medical file forms, answering phones
and taking messages. Enters data into patient/student medical files and student database.
8. Leads the collection of student transportation data.
9. Completes annual HIPAA training and other required organization trainings, including Medication Administration
training.
10. Responsible for upholding and abiding by Health Center-specific and organizational policies, procedures, and
Standing Orders.
11. Reports any type of abuse or neglect, suspected or alleged, to the proper authorities immediately.
12. Performs other responsibilities as required by the Director of Health and Wellness.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
Must be able to drive and have current license
Pass Medication Administration training
Working knowledge of basic computer skills i.e. typing, e-mails.
Physical Demands
Regularly bends, stoops, crouches, and climbs stairs.
Regularly lifts or carries groceries/supplies weighing up to 25 lbs.
Ability to drive for prolonged periods.
Expectations of Hours Worked
40 hours per week. Transportation may require early morning departure times, evening-hour return times, and
occasional overnight stays.
