Full Job Description
Perimeter Security Partners (“PSP”) is looking for a skilled electrical engineer to augment our rapidly growing team. PSP designs, engineers, manufactures, installs, and maintains physical and electronic security systems which protect high-value facilities and personnel across the United States. Typical clients include all branches of the U.S. Military, the National Park Service, the U.S. Department of Energy, state and local governments, Fortune 500 companies, and utility companies. Armed with a record backlog of new work, the next stage of PSP’s growth requires the addition of a detail-oriented, hands-on electrical engineer to strengthen the company’s engineering team in the development of new products, the delivery of design submittals (work plans), and the support of field construction managers. The electrical engineer will develop electrical site plans, single-line diagrams, feeder and conduit schedules, riser diagrams, and other work products for design-build construction projects.
Duties:
· Develop design-build construction drawing packages to include the following:
· Riser diagrams.
· Feeder schedules.
· Conduit schedules.
· Electrical site plans.
· Single-line diagrams.
· Photometric analysis.
· Collaborate with other engineers to research and develop new proprietary products, including PLC-based control systems, pushbutton/ touchscreen operator panels, electronic security systems, and operating mechanisms for vehicle barriers.
· Develop standard drawing details.
· Develop control system sequence of operations and PLC ladder logic programs to execute them.
· Prepare material and equipment submittals.
· Liaise with vendors/ PSP Purchasing Manager to ensure materials are delivered to specifications.
· Review bid drawings and specifications to assist estimating with accurate take-offs.
· Collaborate with project managers, construction managers, and field technicians to develop modifications to construction drawings as required to adjust for site conditions.
· Conduct project site investigations to gather information on existing conditions, field measurements, and other items in support of design development.
· Prepare as-built drawings and closeout documents in conjunction with project managers and field construction management personnel.
· Participate in peer reviews, design charettes, and other quality control activities.
Requirements
· Minimum of four years of experience in an engineering or drafting role.
· Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical required.
· Licensure as a Professional Engineer highly desired.
· Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, electronics engineering, or a related engineering field required.
· Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required.
· Strong written and verbal communications skills.
· Experience with Procore project management software or similar systems desired.
· Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
· Ability to sit at a computer workstation for several hours at a time.
· Duties are performed in PSP’s Brentwood, TN office with occasional travel opportunities.
· Opportunity for occasional (< 5%) travel within the United States.
