Navarro Research and Engineering is recruiting for a Structural Design Engineer in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.

The Structural Design Engineer will provide CNS, Mission Engineering with full time Structural design engineering support for facility and production area activities in Cat 2, 3/Non-Nuclear and Balance of Plant facilities and Backbone Infrastructure Utilities.
The responsibilities for the design engineers are:
- Provide design output documentation to support minor facility modificaitons. The types of design output documents typically developed by a structural design engineer within the Mission Engineering organization are drawings, engineering instructions, data sheets, equipment specifications, equivalency evaluations, calculations, etc.
- Familiarity with and experience in developing designs in accordance with ASME Nuclear Quality Assurance (NQA-1), and a variety of CSA related issues relative to non-reactor nuclear facilities, natural phenomena events, structural rehabilitation, and building evaluations. Must also be familiar with consensus design codes.
- Works with other engineering disciplines and other plant organizations to produce timely design output.
- Experience in a NRC or DOE regulated environment is desirable. Requires an understanding of Conduct of Engineering, Conduct of Operations, Conduct of Maintenance for facilities operating within a nuclear regulated environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited school
- Minimum of 5 years experience.
- Requires strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interface effectively with various clients, production and support organizations, management, and hourly wage employees.
- Must be willing to work in a production environment.
- DOE Q Clearance preferred, but not required to start.
