Navarro Research and Engineering is recruiting a Technical Lead Engineer in Oak Ridge, TN.

- Directs facility engineering to ensure effective, efficient, and compliant operation of facilities, including meeting state mandated parameters and conditions.
- Ensures continuous operation to meet requirements for uninterrupted wastewater processing, and manages subcontractors supporting (DOT tanker inspection, liquid storage tank inspection, elevator inspections, etc.).
- Develops specifications for process equipment and technical services; specifies, selects, and procures replacement equipment (CMTS autodialer/PLC replacement, WTF F8 discharge pipe replacement, LSF Oil/Water Separator packing replacement, EEVOC groundwater well replacement, HETS CC1 Panel PLC replacement, UCOF screw auger), materials, and supplies for LWMS operations; and control and calibration of measuring and test equipment (M&TE).
- Manages data for monthly performance metrics report to demonstrate effective and compliant operation of wastewater storage and processing operations.
- Prepares sampling and analysis plans, data quality objectives, moisture evaluation plans, and waste treatment instructions for treatment/solidification of wastewater treatment residues (F10 sludge/F-390 slurry) for NNSS disposal.
- Developed slurry solidification process, provided process layout and setup, designed radiological containment enclosure, and trained personnel.
- Performs benchtop chemical treatment evaluation of process wastewater samples and develops recipes for large-scale wastewater batch treatment.
- Oversees engineering procurement – selects suppliers, develops specifications, evaluates quotes, and initiates requisitions.
- Serves as Deputy Project Manager. Manages contractors.
- Works with other managers to plan upcoming activities.
- Oversees change/design control.
- Ensures compliance with project plans.
- Designs processes, specifies equipment, formulates chemical treatment, evaluates waste packages, develops procedures, and trains personnel for special projects (WETF slurry solidification, special wastewater treatment, etc.).
Requirements
- Shall have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in engineering and a minimum of 10 years of experience providing technical and management support in a chemical or nuclear industry.
- Shall have a minimum of 5 years of experience in maintaining, installing, and repairing equipment and managing treatment processes in a chemical or nuclear industry.
- Should have experience managing an RCRA permitted facility, and experience maintaining a DOE/NNSA facility within a prescribed facility safety envelope.
- Shall have knowledge and experience in managing personnel in various disciplines.
- Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accreditation of the Technical Lead Engineer’s engineering program is the preferred standard.
