THA is currently seeking an Associate Director of Clinical Operations who serves as a key member of our leadership team. The Associate Director of Clinical Operations will report to the Director of Clinical Operations (DCO). They will further the mission and vision of THA by leading the clinical staff and clinical care delivery through driving operational excellence, quality, standards, and processes so we can better serve our community and stakeholders through our Kind Clinic program (including Kind Clinic’s outpatient clinics, CLIA-waived labs and Class D pharmacy operations). This position may be based in Austin or San Antonio, TX, and requires approximately 25% travel between clinic locations and to Austin administrative offices.
What you would do:
- Provides administrative and strategic programmatic direction, including supervision of Clinic Administrators to ensure the effective management, planning, development, implementation, and monitoring of all clinical aspects of patient care services across all Kind Clinic locations.
- Responsible for continuous monitoring and follow-through on key goals and performance measures that advance organizational strategy.
- Responsible for providing direction and supervision to Clinic Administrators to ensure clinics meet performance, quality, and patient satisfaction targets; including direct Clinic coverage when necessary.
- Supports strong performance management and culture of accountability by mentoring staff and providing frequent and constructive feedback.
- Contributes to a staff environment that promotes teamwork, integration with other departments and staff, individual accountability, staff development, clinical consistency, and staff satisfaction.
- Contributes to an environment that supports patient care that is sex positive, free of shame, stigma, or judgement, and elevates the patient as part of the care team.

- Responsible for supporting the development and management of operating budgets for clinical operations.
- Participates in the organization’s Continuous Quality Improvement Committee (CQI) and processes, including annual policy review and quarterly CQI meetings as well as supporting the development and monitoring of department-specific measures.
- Supports organizational change and growth initiatives, maintaining effectiveness when experiencing major changes in work responsibilities or environment; adjusts effectively to work within new structures, processes, and requirements.
- Supports DCO in all personnel actions for the department including but not limited to interviewing, hiring, performance improvement, training, and evaluating performance of staff.
- Models the adopted mission and vision and core values of the organization.
- Enhances professional development to keep current in the latest health care trends and developments.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Compensation
Based on job duties and requirements, this position is placed in salary band 47 Initial placement within this range will be based on hired candidate's qualifications and relevant experience.

Requirements
Education & Experience:
- Must have a Bachelor's Degree (RN licensure may substitute for this requirement). Ideally, a Master’s degree in healthcare (MHA, MPH, MHSA, MSN) or business (MBA), or similar (may substitute for 2 years of direct clinic or inpatient unit management).
- Management of 5+ direct reports, ideally in a Manager or Director level position with a medical/health care organization.
- Outreach and relationship building with other clinical practices and providers.
- Financial oversight, managing operations to budget.
- Development of policies and procedures in areas of responsibility.
- Ideally having direct experience and leadership in HIV and/or sexual health programs in an organization providing comparable services to similar populations.
- Proficient in using technology as a management reporting tool and experience working with information technology to develop and implement program evaluation systems.
- Strong project management skills managing complex, multifaceted projects resulting in measurable successes and program growth.
- Experience having worked with a high-performance, collaborative, and cross-functional peer group.
