Full Job Description
The Corporate Controller will own the entire Accounting and Finance function, reporting to the CFO. This pivotal role encompasses comprehensive oversight of all accounting functions and controls. The primary goal is to ensure the precise, timely, and accurate reporting of the company's results, coupled with in-depth analysis of performance against forecasts and budgets. The incumbent will play a critical role in supervising all accounting transactional departments, General ledger/close/balance sheet reconciliation management, revenue recognition and managing day-to-day treasury functions.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Direct the preparation of month-end financials. Ensure compliance with GAAP and meet specified completion deadlines.
- Lead the accounting organization, overseeing General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable activities to optimize working capital through effective management of inventory, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
- Safeguard the company's assets by diligently monitoring and accurately recording results, tracked through monthly account reconciliations.
- Cultivate a highly disciplined and proficient accounting department by developing existing and/or new personnel. Foster a culture of accountability for results through skills enhancement, coaching, performance measurement, and feedback.
- Collaborate with external auditors and tax specialists to secure a 'clean' opinion within the defined timeframe and budget. Address all related tax matters appropriately.
- Evaluate existing processes to identify and implement improvements, ensuring the establishment of suitable internal controls.
- Direct, implement, and execute accounting policies and practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- Over seven years of relevant business services experience.
- Previous experience in Private Equity is preferred.
- CPA certification highly desirable.
- Experience with acquisitions, and the construction industry is highly desired.
- Technical expertise and a comprehensive understanding of accounting practices, particularly in ensuring compliance with GAAP.
- Financial knowledge and a deep understanding of key financial measures and accounting methods, emphasizing financial analysis, accurate forecasting, budgeting, and cost accounting.
- Prior experience in Public Accounting is advantageous.
- Experience managing an accounting team including GL, AP, AR and treasury functions.
