We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Director of Operations to join our team in our Richardson, TX, office.
Goliath made a major shift in the company's direction this year by evolving from primarily a game company to a significant player in the broader toy industry. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a crucial role in driving revenue and maximizing efficiencies.
Job Responsibilities
3PL Warehouse Management
- Manage relationships with third-party logistics (3PL) providers, including contract negotiation, performance evaluation, and issue resolution.
- Develop and implement warehouse management strategies to optimize inventory levels, and order fulfillment.
- Continuously monitor and improve warehouse operations to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Organize and Manage 3PL Inventory Audits and cycle count
Order Management
- Oversee the order management team and processes, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and on-time delivery.
- Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, and operations teams to streamline processes and resolve any order-related issues.
- Work with the S&OP team to ensure promotional pallets/assemblies are fulfilled on time, within customer specifications, and at maximum gross margin.
- Implement and maintain an effective order tracking system to monitor order status and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to improve order fulfillment and reduce lead times.
Logistics
- Manage the logistics team to ensure effective contract negotiation, performance evaluation, and issue resolution.
- Continuously monitor and improve both domestic and import shipping to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
Office Management
- Oversee the Office Manager to ensure all supplies are procured on time and in a cost-effective manner.
- Work with the property management company for any repairs and necessary maintenance.
- Support any sub-tenant requests
- Oversee all space modification
Team Leadership
- Lead and develop a high-performing operations team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and support professional growth and development.
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that promotes teamwork and employee engagement.
Cross Training and Manual Development
- Facilitate cross-training initiatives within the operations team to enhance team members' skills and flexibility.
- Develop comprehensive training manuals and resources to assist in training new operations team members.
Requirements
- BA, BS, MBA, or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of experience in operations, with wholesale or retail experience being a plus
- 10+ years of logistics experience, including domestic and import operations
- 10+ years of warehouse management experience
- Strong communication skills, including written communication
- Experience with Microsoft Business Central (Navision) and Jet Reporting is an advantage
- Advanced Excel skills preferred
- Proven ability to lead and provide steady guidance under tight deadlines
