Full Job Description
Streamline is seeking an I&E Engineer or Specialist for its San Antonio office. The Instrumentation & Electrical Engineer will develop I&E deliverables for all phases of a project including conceptual design, preliminary design, and detailed design.
- Manage third party services to draft electrical drawings and construction packages that include necessary I&E deliverables.
- I&E deliverables include but are not limited to: Single/three-line diagrams; power, lighting, grounding, and other systems plans; electrical area classification drawings; cable tray layouts; conduit and cable schedules, load list, IO list, panel drawings and motor control schematics.
- Approve electrical transmittals from 3rd party engineering services.
- Develop, review and/or approve I&E deliverables for definition and implementation phases of projects.
- Electrical checkout for units in fabrication; Inspections of skid assembly and installations to conform with design, specifications, and standards.
- Capture and transmit redlines from commissioned projects for as-built records and document management.
- Implement improvements to overall design; this includes miscellaneous electrical systems such as lighting, grounding, and electrical heat tracing, emergency and uninterruptible power supply systems.
- Coordinate activities and programs for electrical compliance that may require supervision of 3rd party services i.e. voltage drop calculations, short circuit & amp; protective device analysis, or arc flash programs.
- Participate in procurement activities associated with I&E systems and equipment, which may include preparing technical data for inquiry packages, reviewing bids, drawing and technical documents.
Requirements
I&E Engineer:
- Electrical Engineering degree from an accredited university.
- 5-10 years of I&E experience involving skid integration and field installation.
I&E Specialist:
- 10+ years of I&E experience involving skid integration and field installation.
Required:
- Knowledge of I&E engineering and design practices including drawings, specifications, codes, building materials and costs, and construction techniques.
- Working knowledge of NFPA, NEC, and applicable Electrical Codes as well as applicable Industry Codes and Standards (e.g. I&E, ANSI, IEEE, ISA).
Work Environment - Conditions vary and include:
- Controlled office environment
- Field work covering Texas, New Mexico, and other remote locations
- Equipment fabrication shops and panel shops
- Customer offices will be as needed based on project requirements.
- Driving to and from location is required.
- Compliance with general industry and site-specific safety policies is required
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to push, pull, and lift a 25lbs or more at a time required
- Must be able to stand for as long as up to 4 hours
- Must be able to drive on behalf of the company
