Industrial Maintenance Mechanic
(East & North Houston openings)
- Primary responsibilities are to repair, preventive maintenance, and installation of new machinery.
- Repairs and maintains in a accordance with the diagrams, sketches, operations manuals and manufacturers specifications.
- Maintains mechanical and electrical equipment such as EVG, Welding machines and other production equipment such as cranes, presses, forklifts, conveyors, and compressors.
- Repair and maintain electrical and mechanical equipment, such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, computer-controlled systems, and production machines and equipment.
- Adjust and calibrate automated manufacturing equipment.
- Ability to follow checklist, inspect drives, motors and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, preform other maintenance actions as needed.
- Ability to keep records of work performed.
- Troubleshooting, diagnose the problem and determine the best way to correct.
- Ability to set up operation plant equipment.
- Ability to be on call for urgent last-minute breakdowns.
- Ability to operate plant equipment - perform routine preventive maintenance and ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, operate efficiently and the physical condition does not deteriorate.
- Clean and lubricate machinery.
- Preforms check to ensure machines are working properly to adhere to all safety rules adn regulations as well as participate in the overall safety effort.
- Obtain supplies and repair parts from distributor and storeroom.
- Design and/or create diagrams or specification and instruction for users.
Requirements
- High school education - 2 years associate degree program at community or technical college. (preferred)
- Mathematics and geometry, blueprint reading, mechanical drawing, metal working drafting and quality and safety practices - Highly recommended.
- 5 - 7 years related industrial work experience (preferred)
- Knowledge of hydraulic and fluid systems.
- Advanced electrical circuitry and competent knowledge of PLC control systems.
- Knowledge if blueprints, repair manuals and part catalogs.
- Expert in hand and power tools such as screwdriver, saws, drills, wrenches, hammer; as well as specialized and precision measuring equipment and electronic testing devices.
