Full Job Description

Position Summary:

GAC Enterprises is looking for a Locate Ticket Clerk to be responsible for managing the 811 locate ticket process for utility services. This role involves receiving, and processing, from the field supervision team. Ensure that underground utilities are marked and prior to excavation activities. The Locate Ticket Clerk ensures accurate and timely communication with customers, field staff, and other stakeholders

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

Ticket Management:
Receive and process locate requests via phone, email, or electronic ticketing systems.
Review locate requests for completeness and accuracy.
Track and monitor the status of open locate tickets to ensure timely completion.
Close tickets upon completion of locate work.


Customer Service:
Respond to inquiries regarding the status of locate tickets and provide updates as needed.
Communicate with contractors, utility companies, and property owners regarding locate activities and requirements.

Data Entry and Record Keeping:
Accurately enter and maintain ticket information in the locate ticket management system.
Keep detailed records of all locate requests, including any issues or delays.
Generate and distribute reports on locate ticket activity and performance metrics.

Compliance and Safety:
Ensure all locate requests comply with local, state, and federal regulations regarding underground utilities.
Follow established protocols and procedures to maintain the safety of field staff and the public.
Report any safety hazards or incidents to the appropriate authorities.

Collaboration:
Work closely with field technicians to coordinate locate activities and resolve any issues that arise.
Collaborate with other departments and external partners to improve locate processes and customer satisfaction.
Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework preferred.
Previous experience in a customer service, administrative, or utility-related role is preferred.
Proficient in using computer systems and software, including Microsoft Office Suite and electronic ticketing systems.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Knowledge of utility locate processes and regulations is a plus.
Working Conditions:

This position is primarily office-based with standard office hours.
May require occasional overtime or on-call work during peak periods or emergencies.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high volumes of locate requests.
Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer.
Occasional lifting of office supplies and materials (up to 20 pounds).
