Unimacts is looking for a dynamic Manufacturing/Controls Engineer (M/CE) to join our North Houston Operations. At Unimacts, our employees are "industrial business athletes," excelling in various roles. The key responsibility of this role is to lead and take a hands-on approach in developing our Conroe, TX plant capacity. Key Responsibilities:
- Process Development Leadership: Spearhead process development programs on our existing manufacturing equipment to enhance performance metrics.
- New Process Implementation: Drive the implementation of new processes as our product portfolio expands, ensuring the factory is equipped for future growth.
- Kaizen and Improvement Workshops: Lead Kaizen events, improvement workshops, and team-based programs to continuously improve performance.
- Capital Investment Management: Oversee capital investment projects to support plant development and new capabilities.
- New Product Programs: Utilize APQP processes and the Unimacts Operating System (UOS) to lead new product programs, focusing on Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Lean Six Sigma principles.
- PPAP Support: Facilitate the introduction of new products through PPAP, creating work instructions and necessary process control documentation.
- Engineering Change Management: Implement engineering changes and associated process adjustments to maintain optimal production.
- Cost Estimation: Calculate cost estimates for new products and process introductions to ensure financial viability.
- Continuous Improvement: Champion metrics-driven continuous improvement initiatives to elevate operational excellence.
- Safety and Quality Leadership: Be a strong advocate for our Safety – Quality – Delivery – Cost operational excellence culture.
- Technical Documentation: Create drawings and schematics to communicate and design equipment effectively.
- Equipment Installation: Coordinate the installation and start-up of new equipment to ensure seamless integration into the production process.
Requirements
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
- Experience: 10+ years in engineering, manufacturing, Controls and Automation, or sourcing of engineered mechanical and Electrical components.
- Lean Six Sigma: Proficient in Lean Six Sigma principles, capable of selecting and implementing tools and techniques in manufacturing operations.
- Tube Mill: Required experience with Tube Milling (Roll Form) operations.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of drawings, bill-of-materials, Electrical Control Diagrams, PLC programming(Siemens or Allen Bradley) and GD&T; able to analyze and use technical information effectively.
- Quality Tools: Experienced in process control and quality tools/techniques (SPC, GD&T gauge, R&R) and ISO9001 QMS requirements.
- Communication and Leadership: Excellent communicator with outstanding leadership skills.
- Project Management: Skilled in project management, capable of creating and managing project plans.
- Industry Standards: Knowledgeable in relevant industry standards and specifications (ASTM, AWS, EN, ISO).
- Computer Skills: Proficient in MS Excel, Word, Teams, and advanced CAD skills.
- Cost Analysis: Good understanding of manufacturing costs, able to perform should-cost analysis and product cost estimates.
- Detail-Oriented: Hands-on, self-starter who enjoys leading projects and ad-hoc global teams.
- Language Skills: Bilingual in Spanish and English is preferred.
